HEY WATCH IT THERE FELLA... well, SBST have services with useless aircons too ok...and it does not only go for one model. I can list a few of the @$$B@$$ models if u want me to...Originally posted by eX.A.K.R.:In some ways, yes.
The air-conditioners function only as ventilators on those buses, which are supposedly air-conditioned. And A$$MRT, in their never relenting pursuit to make more money and profits, charges air-con fare for those buses. This is to also protect their image, you know (THE FIRST BUS COMPANY IN SINGAPORE TO HAVE FULL AIR-CON FLEET! Yeah right...).
Yeah, some SBS buses has bad A/C... But it's a small no. out of a specific model... But for CAC Nissans, all have bad A/C... Same for CAC Scanias... I wasn't sweating at the bus stop, but once I board a CAC Scania, I starting sweating inside the bus.Originally posted by muziq bus:HEY WATCH IT THERE FELLA... well, SBST have services with useless aircons too ok...and it does not only go for one model. Yeah! On cooler(rainy) days, water will condense all around near the filter area of Nissans! Then they will drip slowly...Originally posted by Donavan:For SMRT literally any bus can have leaking a/c if not maintained well. Nissans, they're simply not sauna, but hot water bath. Hotter. And more rickety. I would prefer a DM CAC Merc or CAC Scania.
Yeah! Esp btw WL customs & WRI people choose to take feeder buses like 911 & 913...much newer & more comfortable buses, cheaper some moreOriginally posted by phillipC:No one want to take the sauna buses! so kosong!

I remember seeing a hispano bendy on sv178 before in yr2000Originally posted by muziq bus:if there were bendies back then, i feel 178 could have gotten them... but not for the current situation now...
svc 176 or 178???Originally posted by vivienlee:I remember seeing a hispano bendy on sv178 before in yr2000![]()
178, @ Woodlands Int. That was in year 2000.Originally posted by brotherchen1982:svc 176 or 178???
Just as I write that, someone complains in the ST forum...Originally posted by stooper:And especially on WA Scanias, many bolts are missing from the A/C panel... You can see they used masking tape to cover the holes, but in the end, the tape gets soaked by water and leak anyway. Sometimes, you see passengers stick tissue paper into the holes...![]()
Whoa...dats cool...if it was really true la..Originally posted by vivienlee:178, @ Woodlands Int. That was in year 2000.
The nearest match would be TIB 795Y on Svc173 .... Its a fact that many of the SMRT buses have crokroaches, esp their o405s.Originally posted by stooper:Just as I write that, someone complains in the ST forum...

But too bad that rego doesn't exist and SMRT cannot check it....
I still remember the crokroach trap tat TIBS used in 1998Originally posted by XiaoTaro:The nearest match would be TIB 795Y on Svc173 .... Its a fact that many of the SMRT buses have crokroaches, esp their o405s.
Seems like nowdays they dun get people to pest control the bus.... i remember seeing during the mid 90's TIBS does pest control to their vehicles.

I think this applies only to the OAC Buses (TIB362M-TIB377X), those CAC ex-CSS ones (TIB1248D-TIB1256E) have lame air-conditioning systemsOriginally posted by mercedes_hispano:Well, can't be blamed. Not forgetting there's Service 187 from woodlands to boon lay as well. Same service. Anyway, those Nissan buses are good. It's vintage. We don;t get to travel around and enjoy the engines of such buses. I miss the DAF CACs as well. And regarding their aircon, i think it;s such cooler and quieter than some MB0405s which are ill-maintained. It;s time to grab a ride on those buses before they get sent to the scrapyard.
