But there's nth special about these Nissans anyway... I'd rather ride on the last Leylands in the world before the get scrapped... The LO3x and Nissan were built the same year!Originally posted by mercedes_hispano:It's vintage. We don;t get to travel around and enjoy the engines of such buses.
It;s time to grab a ride on those buses before they get sent to the scrapyard.
For your info, I have been to Japan cities and noticed similar types of Nissan/Hino buses (also with sliding doors) operating on the roads. The only difference is that the entrance is the sliding door and the exit is the front door. That means passengers enter thru the sliding door and gets off thru the front door. Sounds rather weirdOriginally posted by sinicker:there is something special......
sliding exit doors!
no wonder japanese good. they get off the bus say thank you to bus driver mah!Originally posted by TIB1018B:For your info, I have been to Japan cities and noticed similar types of Nissan/Hino buses (also with sliding doors) operating on the roads. I think those Nissans tat were born together with the Leyland NAC DDs were the NAC Nissan U31 SCNs (TIB251A to TIB336P). These buses has been scrapped already.Originally posted by stooper:But there's nth special about these Nissans anyway... I'd rather ride on the last Leylands in the world before the get scrapped... O i remember taking these buses. I cannot wait for SBS's scanias ( Clear windows) XX series and the nissan diesel buses to get off the roads . Such freaking lousy buses , I am bemused whenever I have to take them on main trunk services . Short distance are ok ... but not 1 hrs plus , thats too much for me to take.Originally posted by anti_NISSAN_U31:
I mean the present LO3x... They are the same age as Nissans, but look such much newer...Originally posted by anti_NISSAN_U31:I think those Nissans tat were born together with the Leyland NAC DDs were the NAC Nissan U31 SCNs (TIB251A to TIB336P). These buses has been scrapped already.
The current OAC/CAC Nissan U31 RCNs with the EDS Destos were actually born only

I'll have you know that SMRT buses are now under PESTGUARDS protection... ride the buses now... they got the stickers already...any problems, blame PESTGUARDS and not SMRT... SMRT just manages the bus, not kill bugs for u...Originally posted by XiaoTaro:The nearest match would be TIB 795Y on Svc173 .... Its a fact that many of the SMRT buses have crokroaches, esp their o405s.
Seems like nowdays they dun get people to pest control the bus.... i remember seeing during the mid 90's TIBS does pest control to their vehicles.
I presume you refering to SBST's scanias ? O please spare us the torture . I am living at Telok Kurah and have to take the lousy scanias on Svc 33. what is OAC and CAC ? That bus can go to scrapyard . Speeding ? If I am not wrong the buses can only go up to 60km , right ? What's the use ?Originally posted by sinicker:the OAC and CAC Scanias can easily stay on our roads for another, i give, 5 yrs. but all you need are bus drivers who are willing to speed like SMRT's bus drivers to truly bring out the power in the Scanias. they are capable of speeding. just that SBST's bus drivers.. i dono what to say ah..
yeah SBST's scanias.Originally posted by K800i:I presume you refering to SBST's scanias ? O please spare us the torture . haha!!! maybe that is their real motto...Originally posted by sinicker:yeah SMRT rocks lah. wonder what is the company motto. "life is short. drive fast."?
and SMRT buses can control temperature, SBST cannot!

Or could it be 2993? It did a cameo on route 143 some time ago, and I happened to catch it last Saturday.Originally posted by Donavan:You meant SBS 2990 E or SBS 2994 U? SBS 2990 E on 66 and SBS 2994 U on 105/334.
Not all SMRT buses can control temp... Most of the (ZF) Habits only have 1 display, the EDS... It was the later batch that had temp controls...Originally posted by sinicker:and SMRT buses can control temperature, SBST cannot!
smrt never updates their bus, they only done a paint job outside the bus but interior it sux, smelly, dusty and hotOriginally posted by anti_NISSAN_U31:This SMRT bus service is one of the most blacklisted SMRT services in Singapore, always full of Nissan U31 buses, especially when sv920 and 921 revert back to its originals.
