Issit svc 184 or 180??

lets run thru them
first the demo on 171 TIB838H
then 851 got bendies first
after which 176. it would seem 176 is a close answer at first but 12m on 176 were a lot.
then s82. which practically had no 12m in its fleet. so the answer will be s82 for the posted question.

Btw, I think sv176 got bendy b4 sv851...remember seeing TIB838H on sv176 b4 TIB849B and its gang came in

Sv 812 received bendies at first, before Sv 913 on 8/9/97. -
History of Bendy Bus deployments
TIB838H was first introduced on service 171 as a demo in March 1996.
When service 960 was introduced in July that year, TIB838H was then withdrawn on 171 to serve on 960 instead.
TIB838H was somehow transferred to service 176 somewhere in 1997.
When TIB849B and its gang came in, it was then deployed mainly on services 82, 176, 180, 184, 812, 851, 856, 903, 912, 913 and 960. Service 160 (now 980) also received Bendy cameos once a while during sundays & public holidays.
Also remembered that some bendies were also deployed on the new Rapidbus 700 when introduced in 1998. It was only for a certain period of time.
In 1999, when Tibs exchanged Sengkang/Punggol/Jln Kayu service in exchange for CCK services, the bendies were then introduced on service 190 and 300, later on service 67 and 188 for trial run.
Tibs then bought in another 200+ bendy buses (Hispano, Habit and Volgren models) in between 2000-2001, more services introduced Bendies during this period.
Up-to-date info on Bendy bus deployments in yr 2006:-
Perm full fleet: 180, 184, 300, 302, 800, 804, 806, 812, 856, 900, 903, 912, 913, 960, 962, 964
Perm partial fleet: 61, 67, 106, 169, 172, 176, 187, 188, 189(??), 190, 700, 811, 851, 854, 859, 901, 911, 963, 969
Cameos (during higher demand periods): 857, 980
Seen before since year 2000: 171, 178, 307, 365 (now 945), 367 (now 947), 858A, 920, 985 -
Still remember the Bendy buses intorduced on 160 on Sundays in 1997, and that was the one and only bendies travelling along my hse near Thomson Plaza I also remembered TIB883B deployed in a period of time somewhere in early 1998.
Somehow the bendies disappeared when 160 was renumbered to 980 in 1999
I also wrote in to Tibs n the staff told me tat bendies were unable to park at Geylang ter.
However the bendy bus came back to serve in 980 once again in Jan 2000
Ever since I got a chance to sit a bendy to my hse again during weekends
I also remember TIB1201M n TIB1174H on perm buses on 980 in yr 2002-2003 and then withdrew from perm fleet again
Till now, the Bendies are still cameoing on 980 once in a while n i always look forward to taking such buses os my hse.
Other alternatives is to transfer n take on 169/851 along tat area.

WOW, i didnt noe that they got Hinos and DAFs, havent seen them b4 ever since i moved to CCK in 2000, must be rare

Also before service 82 was handed back to SBS, all the bendies on 82 had been withdrawn and transferred to KJ 190 (remembered TIB881G was one of them).
Service 300 started operating as a PAC with bendies as AC buses and NAC MB0405s upon handover to TIBS. The NACs were later converted to CAC and were transferred to other services. The newer bendies like Habit and Hispano were then introduced to make up for the MB0405s, hence having a full bendy fleet. As for service 302 and 307, it was operated with MB0405 OAC and NAC for a start, later NAC ones convert to CAC in 2000. There were some bendies as cameos. I remember got one time when 302 and 307 operate with full DAF fleet for a short period of time before reverting back to MB0405s. 302 was later replaced by full bendy fleet in 2002-2003 due to popular demand, whereas 307 remain as a full MB0405 perm fleet. -

I think it's quite strange that a route that was the testbed for the bendy bus has no more bendy buses now... the last time I saw one on route 171 was a few years ago, with the second version of the Hispano-bodied MB O405G. Also, I keep hearing peristent rumours about a bendy bus on route 858 years ago, but from the information I gather here, the closest route 858 ever got bendy buses was when it's short-working trip route, route 858A, had it before. Could there had been a mix-up between routes 858 and 858A when someone said he saw a bendy bus on route 858? I can't imagine a bendy bus squeezing into the narrow Changi Airport basement...
