A pedestrian was killed after she was ran over by an SBS bus at about 6-30 am today.
The accident happened at the junction of Commonwealth Avenue and North Buona Vista Road near the Buona Vista MRT station.
Witnesses told 938LIVE the victim was dragged for about 50 metres after she was hit by bus service 92.
Police said her body was trapped under the left front wheel of the bus.
The victim, a 64 year old cleaner, was pronounced dead at the scene.
She has been identified as Ng Mee Yean.
The bus driver is now helping officers with investigations.
A check with SBS Transit shows that the driver is a 52-year-old Malaysian who's been with the company for 11 years.
This is the second fatal accident involving an SBS bus within a week.
Last Friday evening, a 59-year-old retiree died and his wife seriously injured after their scooter collided with an SBS bus at the traffic junction beneath Loyang Flyover. -
9690A broke down at PSR Dr 12, appears to be due to sticky first gear. This bus had it coming. In the preceding months, engine had been very rough and the gearbox was laggy.

9632T broke down at PSR Dr 12, looks like that place is "cursed".
Remember? 9690A broke down only a couple of days ago there.
This coincidence aside, there are also interesting things to note, first I was lucky, I took my friend's bike as usual and had to miss 9632T to wait for him to catch up with me. Imagine my surprise when I saw folks at PSR Dr 12 flagging the bus down with 9632T in the background (rear hatch open).
Also, this would be the 3rd time 9632T has broken down since last year. The first time, bus broke down at AMK, 2nd time, at PSR Int, apparently refused to start from parking lot. Coincidentally again, at that time 3607G was sitting 20m away with smoke billowing from the rear, and a worried BC was using an extinguisher to put out the flames. 9632T is problematic, 3 years ago, I took it and it refused to close rear door at HG, dunno what's wrong with it. -
SBS 9536 M (Sv154) Brokedown at Jln Toa Payoh (Aft BLK195) today. I took it on Monday and nearly on wednesday. Today, just cos 1 @$^@* driver was slow, i dint get to take it if not i would haf gotten breakdown tix

There's a bus accident inside BNL Int (alighting bay; in front of toilet) on 19 May 2006. The bus in front was SBS3802J while the bus at the rear was a MB OAC Alexander-bodied with Fuji A/C bus (SVc243). It seemed to me that the bus behind was trying to overtake the bus in front, but the BC somehow mis-judged and the left of the bus knocked onto the rear of the bus in front.
Someone was injured and ambulance was called. -

SBS 9265U [AR 65] on sv7 seen at bus stop after Botanic Gardens along Holland Rd towards Clementi at 1am with recovery truck preparing to tow it.
TIB 767D [WL 75] on NR3 broke down at bus stop outside G-Max Reverse Bungy along River Valley Rd at around 2.50am. Puddles of oil seen at the bus bay. -

spotted a VO3X oil leak stopped at the side of the road at tampines around the librabry near the huge bent there. svc not sure saw it last minute passengers all out at the side of the road.

broke down along yuan ching / kang ching road aft Yuan ching sec around 8.40
P.S , the bus was quite full when it left BNL .
BC was seen squatting along the road .
SBS 498Z the next 154 bus had to pickup it's load alon the way which it could not take . i was in 498Z , kinda surprised if i had rushed to take 9625P , i would have experienced it. Throughout the whole journey the BC took abt 1-2 mins per bus stop as commuters had to squeeze in .

8.35AM - 498Z came in , parked . BC did checks / went to office .
8.39AM - 498Z departed from BNL int .
8.39AM - 9536M or 9599G was the next bus to reach BNL .
8.46AM - 498Z arrived @ Bus stop opp Yuan Ching road ( direction towards Eunos)
8.48AM - 498Z left busstop with full load till door .
= there was short notice that the bus would break down . -
