For Sv 950, due to major service disruption, the frequency may be longer and passengers who want to board Sv 950 from WDL Reg Int have to wait longer. Saw the notice at the 950 berth at WDL Reg Int.

Their purchases of japanese buses are long ago so dont blame them but I feel really they should replace the UDs . Well ,every bus company have their own good and bad buses. Part and parcel of life really. Look at the bright side, at least they have some decent buses.
I feel that the UDs should be dump on less popular routes , I have no complaints of UDs on 178 and 980. In fact 980 should use more UDs until newer buses comes.
I hate some of the converted aircon buses like the Scania (SMRT) , horrible aircon if you sit near the rear. Sometimes I can see open windows , i dont blame them really for opening the window .This is something that SMRT should be looking at.
SMRT : Time for you to replace those lousy Nissan diesels.
SBST : Time for you to replace those lousy scanias (31L-80U) but the CAC buses are not so bad.
Anyway back to the topic : Most pampered svc ? One svc comes into my mind , svc 25. Why so many VSOS on that service ? I feel 3 should be more then enough , the rest should be given to svc 22, 166 and others. I dont know but I haven't see svc 24 and 53 with Volvo buses for a long time . I saw svc 24 and 53 with Mark 4 DM body bus , just once and that's it. Even the lousy scania bus appeared on svc 53 once. According to a friend, he told me that those svcs are from AMK depot and they have Volvo SD buses . Question is why dont they deploy those Volvo Mark 4 buses as cameos at least on 24 or 53 ? Not only those svcs , 139, 145, 135 ,have no cameo volvo buses (correct me if I am wrong ) . What is wrong with AMK depot ? Are they fcuk up or what? I am not happy with SBST and the fact with so many lousy scanias on svc 33 which I take everyday. Like or hate it, Suck thumb. -

I haven't see service 24, 53, 139, 145 & 135 with rect. destos. IF volvo buses appear, sure very rare. Mostly Volvo SD buses from amdep will go to St Mike's services.
Scania on 33. No comments.

why does the Tampines and Pasir Ris feeders has more Volvos than Scanias?
why short haul services have better bus than long haul ones? 33 and 39 are the only 2 long haul BNDEP serices to have so many Scanias.

Most of the Volvo MK4 buses from AMK are operating on St Michaels' services like service 21, 124 and 131. those Volvo MK4s could have been perm on St Michaels' services since its Hougang days
Service 72, 161 and 168 also have MK4s from AMK too.
Service 162 also have a number of perm Volvo MK4 DM3500s, those batch of buses began running on the roads in year 2001. It cameoed on service 25 before in year 2001 before it went to service 162.
As you all have noticed clearly, only those AMK operated bus services with DD perm buses do have MK4 cameos before, since they have the rectangular side destos for the DD buses (eg. services 22, 25, 70, 76, 133, 162) -

Bout scanias, they are quite gd... gd acc as a matter of fact. Try svc 29 -
Service 980 demand quite ok what, especially on weekends. Merz/Scania/DL245/Volgrens just nice. Service 178 demand so-so only, should use Scanias instead, the journey very long between Woodlands and Boon Lay
If you are referring to less popular routes, you should refer to bus services like services 925, 926, 927 and 975 during weekends. -

isn't this a disappointment? sometimes, its really bad not to stick to your own side but side with "others on the opposite side".
also, the Nissan bus had existed in the 80s until now, it hadnt "evolve" much, and its also more neglected more than the others. can tell..
but maybe their parts are easier to obtain.. SMRt already did their best by putting all dedicated training buses on nissans, namely 362 and 366 -

You look at the design of the Nissan... You compare with Continental buses... You see a very big difference... Then obviously we would like the Continental buses!
Even the CAC MK2s, which are older than the Nissans, look so much newer!
Last time, a friend of mine thought a freshly repainted into SBST WA MK2 was a brand new bus! No matter how you repaint the Nissan, it'll still be as old as ever.... -

CAC Nissan U31 RCN buses looks exactly like NAC Nissan U31 SCN buses in the past that Tibs had which was phased out in 2001.
The interior of the CAC Nissans also remind me of the old Soon Chow SBS buses.
Even SBST's Volvo MK2s, MK3s, MB0405s and LO3x looks so much newer and better quality seats even though these buses are about the same age with the SMRT's Nissan U31 RCN. -

I suppose you are not a regular on service 980. I would not deny the fact that 980 has low loads during off peak hours. But on peak hours and Weekends the loads increased by few folds. These poor Nissans will be crawling their way to their respective destinations. We can never know the reasons behind the deployments from Central. Certain models are found or not found on a particular services, only their management will know. All the Mercedes Benz buses made up almost 1/4 of the entire SMRT fleet, and perhaps due to the long heritage of the Mercedes buses present in Central area, having these models in bulk made maintenance easier so as to expedite the expertise of the technicians. Perhaps you can think of some powerful reasons and feedback to SBS Transit on why they should deploy Volvo buses on non-Volvo routes.
On your account of unhappiness over service 33 Scania buses, you can always use an alternative route with Volvo buses.
On a side note, these complaints sound familiar......
