If SBST increase the fares, then more people will jump to Malaysian registered buses like Causeway Link instead.Originally posted by sbst275:With the possible RM20 fee imposed onto SG reg vehicles upon entry into Malaysia, it might hit hard on the public transport operators
If this happens, SG govt should impose the same on HI

Dun laugh. Since when SBS buses pump their subsidised diesel? So just because SBS, SJE, SMRT buses are SG registered, so that means they can anyhow come and possibly charge that RM20 per entry? We dun even charge their cars when entering Singapore on Weekend! And they dare to say we charge RM45 on their cars upon entry!Originally posted by XTransbus:hahaha. and seriously i like to take causeway link buses because the aircon is much more stronger.....

SG reg Commerical vehicles need to pay Malaysian road tax if they wanna enter MalaysiaOriginally posted by hiphop2009:or ur infor, if i am not wrong, SBS 170&160 SMRT 950 have "special" type of buses, which means SBS SMRT have buses specially for these routes dat pays road taxes for malaysian roads.....next time if u happen travel on 170 160 or 950, look out for malaysia road tax sticker dat are displayed in front of the bus.....hence i concluded dat these cross boundary buses do not nid to pay the extra RM20 charges............
want to know, see if got the 'small rectangular green sticker with a circle on it' and thre's a Larkin Bus terminal entry pass. and all of the SBS buses entering malaysia got extra tail lights.Originally posted by hiphop2009:or ur infor, if i am not wrong, SBS 170&160 SMRT 950 have "special" type of buses, which means SBS SMRT have buses specially for these routes dat pays road taxes for malaysian roads.....next time if u happen travel on 170 160 or 950, look out for malaysia road tax sticker dat are displayed in front of the bus.....hence i concluded dat these cross boundary buses do not nid to pay the extra RM20 charges............
Now reading the evening papers, they say wanna add customs tax or whatever crap..Originally posted by ^tamago^:it is likely that the public omni-bus services serving the causeway routes do not need to pay the additional RM20 entry fee. the purpose of the fee is clear, and it is likely to affect singapore-registered petrol cars only.
anyway, nobody seems to have highlighted the fact that they're still mulling over it. the actual guidelines are not out yet, and we won't know which group of vehicles will be affected.
for now, just wait for more news from malaysia.
SBST and SMRT no nid to pay ERP. 100% confirm + chopOriginally posted by sbst275:SBS, SMRT, SJE buses have to pay ERP in the 1st place
But the road tax payable to JPJ is cheap, for SBS is abt RM30 compared to abt S$1000 in SG
Dun need to pay?Originally posted by alex_cai92:SBST and SMRT no nid to pay ERP. 100% confirm + chop
Their road tax is higher.Originally posted by sbst275:Dun need to pay?
Then why the IU? Another thing, in the early days, the timesheets has a stamp "Please ensure sufficient value in the cashcard" to remind drivers
Even when Orchard started having its own ERP restricted pricing zone, LTA said that it would cost public transport operators abt one to two thousand dollars more
Even more than my carOriginally posted by SBS9889U:Their road tax is higher.
Might SBS Transit think of registering some buses(perhaps JB MK3s) in Malaysia?
They can just chop off the half-bridge, build a new half-bridge super-beneficial for MY but near-useless to SG. They can also tamper with our water supply. Cannot do anything.Originally posted by muziq bus:when it comes to different countries, its a different story already... its politics baby...Malaysia love tapping cash from us...
