Retrofitting of SMRT 1st Generation Trains

SMRT has begun retrofitting first generation trains. 001 had the honour of doing its test run today on the NSL (002's 3 cabs have not been touched yet) with Train Run Number (TRN) "001".
Seats on every cab will now have the three colours, red, green and blue. The outer two seats will be the original colours, followed by their darker variants for the middle 3 seats.
The interior flooring has been re-done and colour scheme changed to white, with tri-poles and 7-seat arrangement for better doorway flow, but more significantly, the exterior of the train is now as-per 3rd generation trains i.e. black colour with thicker red lining.

just to add on, the darker variants, orange is actually using brown. wait for my video upload later.

note the missing tri-poles, and note the grey handles on top and the box covering the no smoking and no food labels, a trademark of 001/002 and 003/004. -

dun worry. it won't be in service too soon, and we don't know if other 1G trains will be retrofitted or not.

Are there still 9 seats between doors? Or have the seats made bigger so only 7 can fit like the 3rd gen trains?

i reviewed the video again, 2 seats were removed near the doors on all rows, making it 7 seats.
the interior, including doors, as been standardised to bright white as per 3G KHI trains.
the colour of the seats is not exactly following a pattern, later u see the video u will noe wat i'm talking about.

i realised some new stuff upon looking it on the big computer screen...
1. middle cab (2001), doors are painted blue! doors are white on 3001 and 1001.
2. at second cab 1001, the chair is red on one side and blue on the opposite side. (see picture 7)
3. the 2 seats at the cab-end uses purple.
4. there are tri-poles on the new cabs. -
