I noticed that many readers complained in the news paper that the bus drivers brakes too hard. Bus full if brake surely can feel one lah. Where got bus brake cannot feel one. And some readers complaining because when the bus brake they fall. That's because you dont hold on to something. want to become stuntman ar? must always hold on to something lah. eg.seats (don't hold on to something that you're not supposed to touch lah, that'll be a different case) What if the bus drivers jams the brakes? never hold surely fly one. they fall and complain but actually it's their fault. I slept standing before and i hold the railing thingy and i did not fall both with the bus empty and full.

From what I see, the most common reason why they don't hold: 1 hand hold ez-link card, the other hand pressing on the handphone
There's a BC who usually put 3 to 4 paper cups filled with water at the area where the old validator used to be. People complain he brake too hard (don't be surprised that there are still people who fall when he brakes), he'll say, "I where got brake too hard...the cups never even spill, much less topple. Its not like the cups are glued to the floor." -
I experienced it before, I have encounter BC who can brake very well. They do not step and let go and step the brake, they use a big distance to brake. I also encounter some BC who can brake almost like MRT stop. Some is they jam brake at high speed which is quite irritating to me.

Hard to find BC that wun just brake right just 50m near the bus stop

So both buses departed together then... our driver was stepping full accelerator all the way! Can hear from the engine and the way the slip gear is insignificant with the ZF whining like crazy in the 1st gear!
Along Jurong West St 63, both buses side by side on both lanes, with the VO slightly in front... Then when the traffic light turned amber, the VO managed to get pass while our driver put on full brakes to stop...
Then later, at the PIE flyover junction, we managed to catch up with the VO which stopped at the traffic light...
Our driver purposely didn't stop the bus... he drove slowly to the traffic light on the right of the VO (but didn't stop)... And once the opposite traffic light turned red... full accelerator! Overtake the VO which had to start from still... -
lol. Usually merc can acclerate very fast.
But still i don't agree with the hard braking thingy. Wah, if the bus is trying to avoid an accident by braking hard and the reader falls, den complain which will not make any sense at all. See bus stop comming hold on to something lah. I sleep standing and hold on to the rails never fall wad (unless some kutu go and push me lah) -
juz 1 reason i dun like to take bus...

I am usually more worried about dds locking their wheels on rainy days, have encountered that on all types except the VSO, however I think I can count the no. of times I take the VSO on my hand.

agree, sumtimes oso ppl flag bus @ the last minute...den BC no chioce mah must stop, if nt ppl complain say u nvr stop for him...den i find 0405 hispano suspension very good, even emergency brake u oso dun feel much...generally merz brake and suspension is good...Originally posted by XTransbus:lol. If you mean they make a loud low pitch screech righ before they stop... half of 179 LOs buses have this problem... Even if it's not raining... I've encountered that on all types of buses, including SDs. Tridents tend to be more cautious on rainy days.

i think the reader adds a lil bit of stuff here and there in his/her story. Where got bus brake den somebody fall and 'slide foward' ? Unless the bus driver jams the brake and the person standing den got lah. Just try, you go and stand with lousy footing without holding to anything and wait the bus to brake; you may fall down but where ot slide foward or backward one. Liar sia. If the BC jams the brakes, he surely see if his passengers ok den continue driving wad.

I've seen it before... When one of the 179 drivers jam his brake just before the red light, there was an Indian guy who just got out of the sideways facing seat at the back of LO... that is jamming the brakes lor. Where got Bc jams his brakes at every bus stop one. The reader said that one person falls when the bus is slowing down to stop at a bus stop not jamming the brakes to avoid an accident.
If they don't want BC to jam the brakes in case of emergency den do wad? Crash into other things den ppl got injured den slow down issit? -

some BC's really got judgement problem. we can see the car is turning out from a lane...and the BC accelerate the bus further then jam the brake behind the car...and horn the driver. wa seh...

Its not because of the brakes...its due to the grip of the tyres on the road. Don't forget front wheels only got 1 tyre on each side. Rear wheels got 2 on each side. Proof: The centre wheels of DDs will sometimes lock also but never see the back wheels lock before (unless u do e-braking).Originally posted by SBS9828X:wheels locking
