Sv 172 is based on Boon Lay under SBS...it only passes by CCK on the way to loop @ Jln Anak Bt. Therefore Jurong buses were used instead.Originally posted by TIB1018B:Old Jurong Depot / Bus Park.
During the SBS days, CCK services 172, 175 and 188 were controlled by Jurong whereas services 185, 190, 300, 302 and 307 were controlled by Bt Batok. Service 67 was controlled by both Bt Batok and Bedok Nth.
After Tibs took over these services, Kranji took control of all CCK services except partial control of 67 which is from AMK.
Sv 175 is based on LCK...only turn in to CCK but doesn't terminate there.
Sv 67, 185, 190, 300, 302 and 307 are original CCK svcs, the whole batch under Bt Batok. Sv 67 was oso under Bedok Nth cos this svc goes all the way to Tampines. (Even under Tibs, 1/2 of the ctrl got to go to AMK due to the distance n the # of buses used 4 the long journey
)
Sv 188 in fact is the most extraordinary CCK service during its SBS days......it was based in CCK however Jurong was the one controlling this svc instead of Bt Batok

To add on, when i sat on one of such buses in the past, the bus was totally "bing...bing...bong...bong...poio...poio..." n all kinds of creaking sounds thruout the journey along LCK...worse still the brown cushion on 1 of the seats totally came off from the metal structure........ -
At least svcs like 188 during the SBS days, oso used to have lots of NAC buses too:- LO2x and MB0405 NAC. After taken over by Tibs, majority fleets of newly-introduced Smiley Hino Volgrens were used, only 1 or 2 NAC Merz buses were used. A few months later, brand new Habits were oso added in

For me, I think the Hinos were in a bad condition and experienced too many creaky sounds while taking on 172 or 175 in 2000. Later that year, I decided not to take Hinos on 172 or 175.

For your info, Kent Ridge services 151 and 200 were also once operated by Jurong. It was later transferred over to Bt Batok / Ayer Rajah somewhere in 1999 when CCK services were transferred over to Tibs. -

I used to live in Jurong East area & I often not only took svc 66 on MB O405s to my Sec Sch & back in 1995-1999 but I also took them to other places too since I was in Pri Sch(1989-1994)...
Always took svc 66 on MB O405s back to Jurong East when my family visited my relative living near Sim Lim Sq...
I even took svc 66 on MB O405s in early 90's from Jurong East to Bedok to visit my father who is working in Bedok Nth... -
66 started off with MBo4o5...
i remember takin it almost daily..
in 1992, the MK3 came in to the scene...
its was then, Striders, DM3500 entered the scene...
0405 on it are now lesser unlike in the past....
before MK3..i believe it was 100% OAC o4o5 -

Sv48's ridership is quite good but they still advertise (back ad). -
number 48 frequency is terrible. thats why good loads. that time at holland V, a;ready no more empty double seats..
frequency is 15-20 mins, mostly at 20mins. the timetables in the internet are 10mins earlier than the actual arrival time. -

Bedok Nth transferred their MB0405s out only at a later stage after MK4s came in. Hougang and Bt Batok by then had most of it's MB0405s transferred out already.
Those remaining MB0405s on service 66 are only based from Soon Lee. -

It was also serving BP feeder 343 too...till when this service is renumbered to 921 and then transferred to WL. From then, 2 WL buses were used - TIB322D (S Shift - also an old Nissan bus) and TIB638T (AP Shift - OAC Scania). Service 176 had withdrawn almost all its old Hino fleets and replaced them with MB0405s and Habits somewhere in 2000-2001. The remaining old Hino fleets were still serving mostly on 175 and some on 172 till end Dec 2001 when those buses went to the scrapeyards. -

Hmm... if I can recall, I took a Nissan Diesel U31SCN (TIB261X) & Hino HT238K (TIB344R) on 176 but those NAC buses made me experienced hot and stuffiness during the entire ride. BTW, DAFs with Hispano bodyworks are quite comfortable for me back then. Recall TIB401J on 176 before the first 14 DAF buses (TIB391D-TIB404B) were sold to NZ, while the rest were transferred to CSS fleet in 1997. It also reminds me of the DAFs on 950, 951 & 952, as it was settled on services like 75, 181, 187 etc. after 950, 951 & 952 withdrawn. -
