185 used to ply from CCK to Shenton Way via Farrer Rd in the beginning days. It was shortened to loop at Jln Anak Bt when 186 was introduced between Shenton Way and Farrer Rd somewhere in 1993. No route changes till 2003 (except that Tibs took over this service in 1999), when 185 merge with 989 and extend to Geylang via PIE and Kallang Bahru to become 985.Originally posted by SBS9889U:Did 185 ply from Choa Chu Kang Int -> Jln Anak Bt all the while?

How did Service 5 affect Service 185?Originally posted by Apex-LW'21:Don't forget about the amendement of service 5.
For Sv 5, it used to ply Queensway, C'wealth Ave, Alexandra Rd, Ganges Ave and Havelock Rd, which duplicates part of 185 route.Originally posted by SBS9889U:How did Service 5 affect Service 185?
Whoa...that is insightful... i didnt even noe dat...though 185/985 stops just at my 'doorstep'... thanx for the enlightening info...Originally posted by Apex-LW'21:For Sv 5, it used to ply Queensway, C'wealth Ave, Alexandra Rd, Ganges Ave and Havelock Rd, which duplicates part of 185 route.
In 1993, Sv 5 was amended to ply along Holland Ave, C'wealth Ave, Margaret Dr, Alexandra Rd, Lower Delta Rd, Jln Bt Merah, Kampong Bahru Rd and Eu Tong Sen St. Service 186 was introduced to cover the deleted sectors of Sv 185.
Service 186 was then extended to St Michaels, route no change till today.Originally posted by vivienlee:Somehow the whole sv 185 route btw CCK and Shenton Way had cut away the mid portion btw Jln Anak Bt to Farrer Rd around Serene Ctr junction and became 2 services: 185 and 186.
Sv 185 maintain the CCK-Jln Anak Bt portion whereas sv 186 took the former 185 Shenton Way-Farrer Rd portion![]()
Route for Sv 176 is much different.Originally posted by muziq bus:Anyone got info on 176 then... was it the same all the way??
The amendment took place in 1995 before the service handed over to TIBS.Originally posted by muziq bus:The only change to it that i know off is that it used to ply along
Bukit Batok East Ave 4 (173, 177, 963) instead of the current
BB East Ave 2 (122, 365, 945, 185, 985, NR8, NR17)... haha..
On that same day service 105 was also amended to ply along Queensway and C'wealth Ave instead of going straight along Holland Rd, Ulu Pandan Rd and Clementi Rd.Originally posted by Apex-LW'21:For Sv 5, it used to ply Queensway, C'wealth Ave, Alexandra Rd, Ganges Ave and Havelock Rd, which duplicates part of 185 route.

Here is the press release of Sv 970 taken from the TIBS website.Originally posted by muziq bus:Haha...there... i told ya...

214EOriginally posted by eX.A.K.R.:Routes 214E and 214W later bcame 820 and 821 (not sure which became which) in the TIBS days. When they were handed back to now-SBS Transit, they got the numbers 378 and 379 (also not sure which is which). Later intergrated with a shortened route 103 (also a SBS-TIBS-SBS Transit route) and became routes 103 and 103W.
I think tat Tibs used CAC Nissans TIB279X and TIB280R on sv857, then replaced with OAC Nissans TIB363K and TIB364H if I m not wrongOriginally posted by Apex-LW'21:don't think so that NAC Hinos were on 857. Only TIB311K-TIB317U used to ply on 857.
TIB311K-TIB317U, TIB390G (CAC days) were based in KJ, it serves KJ svcs like 950, 951 and 952 together with Hino CACs (TIB380K-TIB389L) and DAFs (TIB391D-TIB424T).Originally posted by vivienlee:I think tat Tibs used CAC Nissans TIB279X and TIB280R on sv857, then replaced with OAC Nissans TIB363K and TIB364H if I m not wrong![]()
replaced with the newer bus-stop plates after all Bt Batok svcs became TIBS in end 2000Originally posted by finoq:i remember last time the bus stops at Bt.Timah Rd still had the sv.77 on the SBS sign blocked out.
TIB279X & TIB280R?? I don't think that others had mentioned that both were on 857 before.Originally posted by vivienlee:I think tat Tibs used CAC Nissans TIB279X and TIB280R on sv857, then replaced with OAC Nissans TIB363K and TIB364H if I m not wrong![]()
I only remember that these 2 CAC Nissans were used on training buses before it was phased out in 1997. These 2 buses were controlled by AMK.Originally posted by Apex-LW'21:TIB279X & TIB280R?? I don't think that others had mentioned that both were on 857 before.
I only know that the both buses deploys on 167850

950, according to the "service 852" thread.
Then how come SBS dun like numbers like "820", "821", "864", "865" and "866" and wanna renumber them to other numbersOriginally posted by brotherchen1982:Look like SBST love to buy ex-TIBS no.![]()
Yeah, agreed. Especially for services 82 and 103, SBS wanna show off "SBS is here to serve you better" and converted these 2 services to FAC services after snatching back from Tibs in 1999.Originally posted by 105090:disgusting.
of these 8 services which SBS took over from tibs, thats 82, 103, 163, 820, 821, 864, 865, 866
6 services are originally SBS's before
all 8 services routes are either amended heavily/ merged/ withdrawn. non has their original routes.
82/ 103: cut to Serangoon
163: Sengkang
820/ 821: merge with 103
864: merge with 80
865: withdrawn
866: renumbered/ amended
Cos SBST doesn't like "820", "821", "864", "865" and "866" as these number are for TIBS svcs than SBS svcs then...Originally posted by TIB1018B:Then how come SBS dun like numbers like "820", "821", "864", "865" and "866" and wanna renumber them to other numbers![]()
