Are citybuses useful?

I'm referring to the double deck volvo city buses with a different style of service number displayed.
Are they useful ?
Everytime i see them its always almost empty. At most 2 or 3 people in the entire double deck bus.
Besides, what are the interchanges they come from? -
yes city buses are useful. Just imagine, if there is no citybus, you'll have to take taxi's everytime. Taking taxi everyday costs much much more than taking a bus.

If he is, then Citybuzz buses just loop around the city, without terminating at any interchanges... -

The emptyness of the bus explains the higher amout of fare charged. The use of those svc? To ease the ppl to go to the main tourist attraction eg.little india, chinatown ect. Those buses are usually taken by tourist and would have slightly more passengers during the festive season. and if you have an ezlink card you can earn more points. -
At least they provides me a direct link froM Chinatown to Suntec Area..

With (only !) 2 to 3 people inside i believe you're referring to this
Citybuzz service, which is supposely targetted @ the tourist market.
But to the locals here i'll find this not a very 'useful' service, using
your choice of words !! Otherwise it should be often crowded with
people instead of only 2 to 3 persons. Many times i've seen it with

CSS 604 should not have been withdrawn in the past. It linked CNT with Nicoll Hwy. In addition, 148 (CLE-Geylang Fringe) could have been extended to EUN via High St, Nicoll Hwy, Mountbatten, Old Airport, Tg Katong Rds and Sims Ave instead of being withdrawn. -

Alternatively, take Sv 145 or 197 to Armenian Church and walk to St Andrew's Cathedral to catch the Suntec City Shuttle.
