  196e : Marine Parade - Shenton Way(Wkdays Morning Peak)
  196e : Shenton Way - Marine Parade(Wkdays Evening Peak)

  I personally felt that 174e is not very fast.. (Still need to stop most stops in Bukit Batok)

  I agree as well. I see not many people taking 174e from BNL also. The buses depart with about 5 people onboard each bus.

  Express 506 worth if you taking full trip or JE/BB -> Toa Payoh. BUT take from Toa Payoh -> Bedok = waste money unless it is very early and Sv59 havnt operate. If not, take Sv59 as nowadays Sv59 BCs are not driving slower than Express 506 BCs anymore.

  1) You missed sv59 bus
  and
  2) you are in a rush going to TPY.......
  
  Then maybe can consider 506......
  
  (Because just now when I was rushing to TPY for Potong Pasir rally........I missed the sv59 / SBS 235 R.....and have to board 506 which came about 10 mins later.............I paid $2 in cash....and the bus SBS 2607 M managed to catch up that sv59 bus near Toa Payoh........just trailing behind it when the 2607 M is in TPY.....)

  But if you have the time.....then it would be better for you to take sv59 between BDK <---> TPY sector...........

  i think express services only worth it when you take it a few stops before it enters expressway, and alight a few stops after it leaves expressways.
  
  eg. CT (off-peak, fast service).
  
  the former 501 and 502 is the worst, and the current routes of 502 and 518 if u take from end to end..
  
  on the other hand, fast forward services, except 89e, isnta good deal. just that in the peak hours, when buses are difficult to wait..
  
  eg: sv14, 14e at Dhoby Gaut
  
  6.15pm: 14
  6.17pm: 14e (so few passengers)
  6.30pm: 14e (so very good loads)
  6.31pm: 14 (not much people board)
  
  i also see, for 89 at HG, the parent 89 headway is about 15mins, enticing ppl to take 89e. when 89e left, the parent 89 comes within 2 mins..
  ah well, but thats commuters' choice

  Do take note that by taking S89e, it could save you for up to 10-15mins of travelling time.

  agree.. the section where it skips pasir ris is its unique part, because it cuts off much travelling time ie. bypass pasir ris

  how much is express fees now? last time i took 502 which go by expressway, but when it turn into amk/serangoon there.. jam... that was like 5 yrs ago

  Your case special cos i every weekday take Sv59 and the condition is not like yours. But if i suppose you take from Damai Sec, then 506 will stop at less bus stops in comparison to 59 hence faster a bit but nowadays 506 BCs dont really care about 59 unlike when it started when a 506 BC see 59 bus, then he will chiong and cut pass.

  I would say CT18 is the value for $$$ but the frequency a bit too long. Normally i take CT18 from home to Chinatown only $1 but if i take taxi is $7++ = 7 joyrides on CT18 . Since last year Jan till now, i only took taxi twice when CT18 is in operation(of cos wif family la), somemore taxi like only faster than CT18 by 5 mins.
