Actually, when I was coming up with this bus route through the midst of my insanity, I was thinking about places that lack bus routes or have a high number of complaints about the bus service there, and Sembawang, Choa Chu Kang Way, Teck Whye, and the newer areas of Bukit Panjang came onto my radar. And while mapping out my route, I decided to make it go through another problematic area - the industrial area around Woodlands Avenues 10 and 9, as well as linking it up with Republic Polytechnic.Originally posted by Volvo Olympian:I think the Bt Panjang part i rather it don't go around the town ... too long , unless skip Jelapang , Saujana and Fajar Rd...then i think could be better in this case.
example :
Choa Chu Kang Road, Bukit Panjang Road, Pending Rd and Petir Road.
Not a useful route. Too few sectors for demand. Unnecessary Express Route. 157 settles Toa Payoh <--> Bukit Timah pretty well. No point having a bus jump straight onto the Expressway from Eunos to TPY, 506, 59 and 5 all do the same job!!Originally posted by SBS2671B:Express 505# (Weekend Route)

I seriously think 180 is a better choice... More direct.. more pax..Originally posted by slayer2004:Hmm...actually I do suggest :
187 extension to Sembawang Int via
Woodlands Reg Int
Woodlands Ave 2
Woodlands Ave 9 (To link Republic Poly with Marsiling MRT)
Woodlands Ave 4
Woodlands Ave 7 (To link Republic Poly with Admiralty MRT)
Sembawang Way
Sembawang Dr
Sembawang Vista (Sembawang Int)
Or skip Woodlands Reg Int and ply Woodlands Ave 5 and so on...
Though it will make 187 a longer route but with this extension, it can not only:
Provides additional service to Republic Polytechnic
Link students living in Marsiling MRT area, Admiralty MRT area and Sembawang to RP with ease instead of changing multiple buses
Hopefully one day it will become reality.... = )
Hmm..haha...actually yah, make sense 180 seems better to extend, okay let me come out with this idea :Originally posted by off_service:I seriously think 180 is a better choice... More direct.. more pax..
275 already duplicated by 131. It can get the chop.Originally posted by Kheng Peng:how about merging 275 with 198 to make it extended to loop at bukit purmei avenue?![]()
180 may be merged with 171 when BTL becomes operational. The BPJ-Marina Ctr sector of 171 may vanish.Originally posted by off_service:I seriously think 180 is a better choice... More direct.. more pax..
962 serves the same purpose as 101.Originally posted by TIB1049L:I don't think SMRT will do this. 962 goes to Sembawang and I think they are not even keen to extend 962 to SBW Int, let alone 180

Clementi -> Dover: 14, 106Originally posted by Donavan:In addition, it's not like Clementi needs another service to Orchard, Dover or Holland Road. I don't understand the fact that you're also duplicating 106 at the same time from Dover to Holland.
i did not use this structure, rather i use 147 -> 7 -> 133 -> 25 -> 3. and i did not know i was duplicating 106's route from dover to holland.Originally posted by Donavan:Please enlighten me on what the route is for.
Also, do note you can travel through Tanglin Road and Orchard Road instead of using Grange Road and Orchard Link. What point are you trying to prove?
In addition, it's not like Clementi needs another service to Orchard, Dover or Holland Road. I don't understand the fact that you're also duplicating 106 at the same time from Dover to Holland.
There's also 147 and 166 to Selegie from Clementi, 65 to Orchard/Selegie from Bedok Reservoir.
The way it's strutured, you remind me of 106 --> 65 --> 3. (though it isn't the exact route).
A nice try at doing a 51, but the purpose isn't very clear. Perhaps you could enlighten me.
i'll shorten the route then.Originally posted by SBS9806J:Clementi -> Dover: 14, 106

When I first saw the service without the target aim I thought of only 2 things.
1) Being a shortened 966.
2) Being a shortened and amended 57.
