No . For what ? Remember . Public buses have auto gearboxes . That makes them having lesser fuel efficiency as compare with those coaches using manual gearboxes , which means more frequent stops to the gas station and that goes to show one thing, not economically wise .Originally posted by patdog112:can local public bus services go into malaysia for longest distance route..?

Second , for overland use , its preferred if you use a bus with a good suspension , example the O405 , B10M . The North South highway can be very bumpy at some areas .
Thirdly , the seats aren't meant for travelling times of over 5hrs . I sat on one for just 1hr and my butt hurts already . -

I think 969 definately a no-no , even before reaching Yishun the buses already packed. Extended 852 grants access to AMK area, Shunfu est, Bukit Timah and Bukit Batok.
Extended 854 grants access to Hougang, Eunos and Bedok.
Extended 969 grants access to Tampines area which is a good place for transferring buses to Changi Airport Cargo Complex or to Changi Airport or Loyang Industrial area.
And in case if any people want to go to semabwang park via public transport, it will be easier for them since only two transfers are required. -

TIBS had rejected tonnes of requests (including mine) requests to extend to Sembawang. There had been a recent increase of writings to newspaper requesting for more services in Sembawang. These are the few:
1. Extension of 857 to Sembawang
2. Extension of 168 or 969 to Sembawang
and 1 or 2 more which I can't remember.
As mentioned, I'm still waiting for the promised 858 amendment to materialise. -

To avoid duplication with the extended 198, 961 can be diverted via C'wealth Ave, Alexandra and Lower Delta Rds (former 189 & 5 routes). The extended 198 can also return via Stamford Rd and Hill St insted of Nth/Sth Bridge Rds. -

i agree with ur 2nd & 3rd point but not really the 1st point , we've auto gear inter-city coaches like PZ1000S & PZ2000K which are Volvo Mk4s tht are running on auto gears , some scania coaches hv opticruise & can run auto also.Originally posted by Scania N113CRB luver:No .
