I realise that the extension sector of svc 80 duplicates with svc 145 from Crawford St to Henderson Rd. (Duplication of 12.5 stages). I think that's probably why SBST terminates Svc 80 at Harbourfront instead of Bt Merah int.Originally posted by slayer2004:Hmm...actually I got this idea in mind, by extending 80 and 198 to Bt Merah and HarbourFront Int...
80 (extension via) :
Telok Blangah Rd
Henderson Rd
Bt Merah Int
(This is to provide alternative bus to Bt Merah Int from HarbourFront, Tanjong Pagar area and also other areas like Bugis etc)
198 (extension via) :
Bt Merah Central
Henderson Rd
Telok Blangah Way
Lower Delta Rd
Kampong Bahru Rd
Telok Blangah Rd
HarbourFront Int
(This is to provide alternative to HarbourFront for Telok Blangah residents and also from Buona Vista areas)
I have just consulted the MP who announced to diversion news. SMRT accepted the proposal but PTC rejected it, citing increased travelling time and cost for existing customers.Originally posted by Yaimster:Until SMRTB deliever its promises to reroute 858 into Sembawang, which was like 1 year ago, I seriously dont think any of these above will happen. 852 slightly maybe, but not so for 854 and 969.
Oh so PTC is the culprit. However, I still won't see how much more travelling time that it can increase. If the extension of 858 is similar to my extended 854, the increase in timing is roughly 8 - 10 minutes since there is an increase of around 3 - 4 fare stages. Increased costs for consumers?? I dun think so. By extending more services to sembawang, there are more direct bus services from sembawang to other places and hence costs are reduced.Originally posted by off_service:I have just consulted the MP who announced to diversion news. He also mentioned that they (MP and SMRT) had submitted a new proposal to PTC, hoping for approval from PTC.
Sounds like someone else (or is it you) mentioned this before...Originally posted by SBS9889U:How about amending Express 518 to serve KPE when Phase 1 opens on its return trip?
Current Route:
ECP -> Bedok Sth Ave 1 -> Bedok Sth Rd -> Bedok Nth Ave 1 -> Bedok Nth Rd
Amended:
ECP -> KPE -> PIE -> Bedok Nth Rd
There will be much lesser traffic lights and trip may be faster.

This is something that I've been thinking about for the past few days. What do you think of my suggested route? Does it link to places effectively?
The numbering will be best left to the operator for a final decision.
Route: Shenton Way to Singapore General Hospital (Loop)
Eh yeah, but such a service is an alternative of the SGH shuttle from my point of view.Originally posted by service_238:There's S196 and the SGH shuttle?
If terminate at New Bridge Rd terminal might as well don't need to introduce it , theres SGH Shuttle to Outram Park MRT.Originally posted by TWS4793:Eh yeah, but such a service is an alternative of the SGH shuttle from my point of view.
It actually links the areas with no bus stops (e.g. Maxwell Road).
Err...maybe shorten it to terminate at New Bridge Terminal? How about that?

In my opinion, this route is implementable. However, I am not sure about the territory thingy set by PTC.Originally posted by swee_heng:SMRT Service 989:

Now is this more likely to be SBST or SMRT due to the territorial thing?Originally posted by tanjun:In my opinion, this route is implementable. However, I am not sure about the territory thingy set by PTC.
This route has around ~ 28 stages in total. The advantages of having this service is that it provides a direct link from CCK to Clementi Ave 2, SIM, Ngee Ann Poly, ITE Dover, NUH, Ayer Rajah Camp.
i will dream for tat to happen.. finally a bus to connect me to suntec direct..but if cck way turn into teckwhye better can lessen 190 loads of studentsOriginally posted by swee_heng:SMRT Service 989:

This is an idea of a bus route I've been thinking of, specially for the aviation fans in mind (like me). What do you think?
Service 35 (Extended) - Bedok Interchange to Changi Ferry Terminal
[Full route until Changi Coast Road (Tanah Merah Coast Road)]
Changi Coast Road
-Runway 02R (Runway 02R of SIN is towards the SE of Changi Airport)
-Airport Fire Station 2
-Runway 20L (Runway 20L of SIN is towards the NE of Changi Airport)
Changi Ferry Road
-Changi Ferry Terminal
Changi Coast Road
-Opposite Runway 20L
-Opposite Airport Fire Station 2
-Opposite Runway 02R
[Continue remaining route of Service 35 till Bedok Interchange]
The current Service 35 will either be renumbered Service 35W.

I got quite mixed up just now when I was drawing out the airport runway layout for SIN. I know that there was a 02C and 20C but I am not sure where they put it in.Originally posted by Scania:Its RWY 02C/20C now, WSSS has 3 official runways (one for RSAF).
Isn't opposite RWY 02C and opposite RWY 20C in this context the same thing?
