  I will rather they extend service 52 to Hougang and Boon Lay. Total stage is around 38 stage, following 165 route to Hougang from AMK and following your route from Jurong East to Boon lay.

  I guess the main purpose of this service is to provide more links for people living in Sin Ming Ave/Dr/Rd to other places like Jurong.
  
  From AMK to Sin Ming Ave/Dr/Rd and Thomson Rd, 130 serves the same purpose with this service.
  From AMK to Stevens Rd, I can take 132.
  From AMK to Bukit Timah after the junction of Adam Rd, I can take 74.
  From AMK to Clementi Rd: 74, 165 (Clementi Int)
  
  As you can see here, firstly, the route runs together with 130, follows 132 route and then 156, 74, 99 and towards Boon Lay.
  
  Demand will be mainly from AMK int from the residents residing from AMK. Not likely to get people living from nearby areas such as Serangoon North or Hougang areas as they have direct services to Bukit Timah unless they take a bus to AMK int to transfer to this service to Boon Lay.

  Hmm. Follows 262, then 165, 93. It is a bit different from 93 route from Queensway to Alexandra Rd.
  
  There is a 166 to go from AMK to Harbourfront but I will prefer to take this service as it will be faster than 166. However, from Lornie Rd onwards, there is a hevy duplication with 93, 855 and especially 93. So at Lornie Rd, there are 3 bus services going to Harbourfront using Lornie Rd and Queensway and 2 services using Alexandra Rd to go to Harbourfront. Duplication in my opinion is rather heavy. Besides, there is 132, 165, 166 to serve AMK residents from AMK to Upper Thomson Rd.

Provide direct link to Novena and Newton areas too. After that, it follows 111 route from Orchard Boulevard onwards till Alexandra Rd. And after that, it turns right to Queensway and goes to AYE via Portsdown Rd. Please correct me if I am wrong here.
  
  So it provides a direct link from Queensway, AYE to western parts of Orchard and Novena, Newton areas.
  It follows 197 route after that till Jurong East and runs almost parallel with 198 to Boon Lay.
  
  In summary, there is much uniqueness in this route as it provides numerous direct links.
  However, I guess that the number of fare stages for this route is long seeing that it goes all the way to Orchard from Hougang and to Queensway before going to Jurong East and Boon Lay. So, it actually goes one big round at Queensway.
  
  For demand, I leave that to the commuters to decide.

  Can't really remember whether a right turn is permitted. But i do remember that there are traffic lights junctions between Portsdown and Queensway.

  AMK to Bukit Timah Rd: 74
  Bukit Batok to AMK areas: 852
  Bukit Batok to Jurong East: 66, 176 (176 is faster)
  Bukit Timah to Bukit Batok: 66, 157, 174 (runs the same route as this svc)
  
  However, in my opinion, the route is long winded.
  Suppose, if I want to go to Thomson Rd from AMK, I can take this service as it is a faster route as compared to 132 or 166 which passes by Upper Thomson Rd.
  If I want to go to Bukit Timah, I will take 74 as it is faster.
  To Jurong East, Bukit Batok: I will take MRT.
  
  So this service provides a direct link from residents residing at eastern part of Bishan Pk to Bukit Timah, Thomson and Bukit Batok areas.
  In terms of duplication, it is more since it runs some sort of parallel with 132 till mid journey, 74 at mid - late and 852 at end.

  Significant Note(s):
  1. The extended route of Service 87 on leg 1 heading Southwards to Sims Place Terminal does not go to Bedok Interchange, reason being that others can take the MRT or any other bus services to Aljunied and transfer from there.
  2. The extended route of Service 87 on leg 2 heading Northwards to Sengkang will stop at Bedok Interchange to drop off and pick up passengers.
