As one of my friends comments that there is a lack of trunk services plying Woodlands, I have decided to introduce some fantasy routes that seem feastible in terms of costs and passenger loads. However, since Woodlands is a SMRT dominated territories, I doubt any trunk services will be introduced by SMRT as there is already a North-South Line that runs through Woodlands estate which is operated by it.

For 968 and 968A, it's operation hours are similar to service 700.
Some benefits of 968.
1. Provide a quick and direct link from Woodlands estate to the city. If I am not wrong, 968's route to town can be faster if not equal than taking a feeder bus then MRT. And because of that, the demand for it can be gd judging from freq of 911 and 913.
2. Acts as an alternate link other than 911 and 902 and 169 from Woodlands interchange and Woodlands estate to Republic Polytechnic.
3. Provide a link to Bukit Panjang from Woodlands estate and acts as an alternate bus service (Bukit Panjang) other than 190 and 700 to town.

maybe can introduce a 84M which operates during weekdays morning peak hours and skip the sector between cross street and whitley road? for sure there will be peak hour demands from jurong west to CBD

If that happens, I dun think it will be called 84M. More likely to be premium 560.

The jurong west to cbd covered by 537 i thought

Is there a need to do this since 222 has a good frequency coupled with DDs?

Actually it isn't a bad idea anyway, at least there's a direct service from Chai Chee to City and vice versa.

Woodlands does need a service to Orchard, but the loading of the service will mainly depend on Woodlands, 'cause your 968 duplicates 700 from Pending Rd to Shenton Way (except for the Stevens Rd part), and 968A duplicates 700A from Pending Rd to Marina Centre. However, if it provides a quick ride from Woodlands to Orchard, it will certainly have a high demand that has to be coped with using bendies. Does SMRT even have enough bendies? I doubt they'll dare to introduce new city services. RGS girls will be thanking you though, if this service is really introduced, as you would have just given them an alternative to Orchard MRT/Bukit Panjang other than the super-packed 190 which they always cannot board. =)

Yeah, maybe for the purpose of increasing Service 32's demand, and giving Chai Chee residents a direct link to the City.

I am thinking of 26 because it has a low demand. 14 is also a good idea as it will provide a direct link to the CBD from Chai Chee.

S26 still can. S14 route too long, don't make it longer.

Can make use of 25's high freq to help relieve the demand of 222.
In addition, 25 and 854 duplicates with each other all the way from Hougang Ave 2 to Bedok. Thus, 854 can cover the deleted sector of 25.
Not only that, service 26 can be used too since service 2 duplicates it all the way from Kallang MRT.
It results in only 1 fare stage in both direction but opens up to numerous links in Chai Chee.
Just my 2 cents worth of thought.

I think the route is very circuitous especially the part from farrer road to Newton Rd resulting to a lot of addition in fare stages. Besides, I think the demand along Thomson Rd between MacRitchie Reservoir and PIE is rather low. This service can utilise PIE at Adam Rd to get to Thomson Rd quickly.

This route essentially would bring back the former Service 700 (then known as RapidBus 700). Back then, the buses on this route were reported to be installed with transmission devices that give them priority at traffic signals.

Service 14 already covers the Bedok North Rd portion so it doesn't quite make sense for the route to come over to Chai Chee.
Service 26 has a high demand at the Boon Keng and Geylang Bahru sectors, but dips along the EWL corridor which is heavily duplicated. It would be a good idea to divert one of these services to Chai Chee, one of the benefits being the direct link from Chai Chee to Geylang Serai and Geylang Rd, for example.
