SBST 117 - Hougang Bus Interchange to Choa Chu Kang Bus Interchange
117 will go round Hougang & part of Sengkang area before crossing to SMRT territory, Choa Chu Kang. Direct Route to CCK Interchange withouth going around at SMRT Territory. Why i end it to CCK because Bukit Panjang got 160/170(Ten Mile), 157,174 pass bukit batok interchange. CCK? don't have. haha. So THIS maybe the mystery of 117. ^_^

Especially with the Downtown Line coming. Guess everyone in Choa Chu Kang and Bukit Panjang will suffer with SMRT controlling all bus and rail services.
BP LRT sees 5, 179, 344, 345 being axed. Till now a portion of Bukit Panjang does not even have a bus service!
Downtown Line may see 190, 700 / 700A, [171 & 960 (being highest possibility)] being axed =X
I tink project 50% Choa Chu Kang, 50% Bukit Panjang....
How about amending 920 and 922 when the DTL comes up.

A covered linkway is planned to connect DTL Petir station, Bukit Panjang LRT station and the temporary bus interchange. The Land Transport Authority (LTA) will also work with other agencies to study how future development at the reserve site beside the two stations can be integrated to link these facilities.

This service seems to be the old 81 cum a bit of current 80 and in later parts of route, it seem to duplicate 97. .
In my opinion, it duplicates with NEL too much from Hougang to Little India or even to City Hall or Tanjong Pagar and China Town. It duplicates with 147 from Serangoon Ctrl to Chinatown though this service utilises North Bridge Rd and South Bridge Rd. After passing Keppel Rd, it duplicates 97 from Harbourfront all the way to Jurong Regional Library.
In addition, 61 can bring Bt Batok to Harbourfront. 80 can bring from Hougang/Upp S'goon to Tg Pagar Rd. 147 or NEL can bring from Hougang Ctrl to Jalan Besar / Chinatown.
107 can bring from Hougang Ctrl / Kovan to Bendemeer Rd.
There are several alternatives which are already available to help fulfill the purpose of this service.

In my opinion, it is good if there is an improvement of demand due to the extension. It will be bad if demand is stagnant instead because of the higher number of fare stages plied by extended service 136.
