why?Originally posted by SBS9889U:It would likely not be approved under PTC's regulations.
Brother,S7 BCs had enough stress plying Orchard Rd and you want it to extend till Tampines?S18 Although sounds a bit wasted,But there are still some pax who prefered to take this servicesOriginally posted by iveco:To me, it is more like Svc 18 awallowing up 7. If BDK can have links with JUE in the form of 197, I don't see why there can't be direct CLE-TAM bus links.
Because SBST services have to serve 2 SBST areas before going into 1 SMRT area. Same for SMRT.Originally posted by swee_heng:why?
what about 966Originally posted by SBS9889U:Because SBST services have to serve 2 SBST areas before going into 1 SMRT area. Same for SMRT.
I'd say the new ruling is crap. Routes like 854 would never have come about if such rules were there from the start.Originally posted by SBS9889U:Because SBST services have to serve 2 SBST areas before going into 1 SMRT area. Same for SMRT.
*cough* SMRT = Temasek Holdings = PAP....Originally posted by eX.A.K.R.:I don't know, but I have a funny feeling that, somehow, PTC is biased against SBS Transit, so that stupid "2 own, 1 rival" rule doesn't seem to apply to SMRT. Look at routes such as 853, 854, 855, 857, 966, 61, 67, etc... and so on. They clearly violate that rule, and yet they are still allowed to run!
It's just my feeling, but...
Most of the 85* route numbers were introduced in the '80s when then-Tibs were given complete control of the YIS sector (save for 171). As for 61, 67 & northwest routes, these were handed over from SBS over the years from '95 to '99.Originally posted by eX.A.K.R.:I don't know, but I have a funny feeling that, somehow, PTC is biased against SBS Transit, so that stupid "2 own, 1 rival" rule doesn't seem to apply to SMRT. Neither. There is a reason why it's Woodlands and not Bukit Batok. One, SBST earns extra $$$ because of weekend goers to Johore Bahru. Two, rememeber Causeway Point?Originally posted by swee_heng:New SBST Svc 116

For 116 , no problem parking at CCK Int coz of 1 empty berth (ex 989's berth) , Pasir Ris i think there shouldn't be a problem as well. For 84 , Can use the berth's next to 106 or 941.
Which one do you think is the best & SBST would likely introduce?
It's not biased,Judging from bus fleets SBST win marginally over SMRT buses so just few SMRT services plies more SBST areas indirectly to "Help" SBST loadsOriginally posted by eX.A.K.R.:I don't know, but I have a funny feeling that, somehow, PTC is biased against SBS Transit, so that stupid "2 own, 1 rival" rule doesn't seem to apply to SMRT. but shouldn't SBST "helps" SMRT now? since smrt so lack of buses...Originally posted by carbikebus:It's not biased,Judging from bus fleets SBST win marginally over SMRT buses so just few SMRT services plies more SBST areas indirectly to "Help" SBST loads
SMRT may lack buses, but SMRT's rail network is stronger than SBST... (SMRT will even be stronger when the Circle Line opens...)Originally posted by Y_Shun:but shouldn't SBST "helps" SMRT now? since smrt so lack of buses...
There wasnt such rules when 854 was launched at that time yet. If you want to compare , take 966 instead , what i think is that 966 should be under SBST coz it serves SBST's territory like Toa Payoh & EunosOriginally posted by iveco:I'd say the new ruling is crap. But at least like 131 and 275, 131 covers 275's rt...Originally posted by 105090:well, we can see that SBS is fast getting rid of feeder buses..
266, 267, 290, 294, 323, 321, 322, 323, 326, 327, 328, 357, 371, 382, 385 in recent years only.. and soon, 274 and 275 may also be on their way.. all weree replaced by trunk services.. can charge higher fares but serve more areas abit winding routes
the only newest feeder is 372, or "townlink" 265.
235 and 231 can also be withdrawn with simple rerouting of some Toa Payoh Int services.. already, 57 and 59 can provide alternatives to 231 to Lorong 6
274 and 275 sooner or later sure kanna one...Originally posted by sbst275:But at least like 131 and 275, 131 covers 275's rt...
But making rts like 145 making 1 big round inside TAP bef getting to Jln Toa Payoh isn't a good idea
True... In the past, 17 was introduced and it overlapped with 227... Later, 227 was withdrawn. Then 38 is introduced to replace 220 and 290, 60 is introduced to replace 226 and 385, and 63 is extended to replace 382, etc etc...Originally posted by 105090:274 and 275 sooner or later sure kanna one...
Dun know abt that but Circle Line sure links the whole MRT network.Originally posted by autumncs:SMRT may lack buses, but SMRT's rail network is stronger than SBST... (SMRT will even be stronger when the Circle Line opens...)
FYI,SBST also proposed a two rail lines in 8 years time.Originally posted by autumncs:SMRT may lack buses, but SMRT's rail network is stronger than SBST... (SMRT will even be stronger when the Circle Line opens...)

131 makes a big round of Tk Blangah because it inherited that stretch from 125 during the 1993 rationalisation.Originally posted by 105090:274 and 275 sooner or later sure kanna one...
anyway look at 131.. making one big round within Bt Merah then reach harbourfront..now making an even bgger round..
but 131 reaching bt merah always empty
You forgot about 163A covering for 371.Originally posted by autumncs:True... In the past, 17 was introduced and it overlapped with 227... Later, 227 was withdrawn. Then 38 is introduced to replace 220 and 290, 60 is introduced to replace 226 and 385, and 63 is extended to replace 382, etc etc...
