sir , not all svcs have guides , if u say have where are 242 , 240 , 243 , 194 , 333 , 334 , 335 guides ?Originally posted by samtlk:The BCs are rostered for their routes days before driving them, so they have time to familiarize them.
Standby BCs for that particular day are usually given routes that they are already trained in. In the event that they have to do routes that they don't know (which is quite rare), they'll learn their routes for 1-2 trips before doing them. Other scenarios include pulling out BCs of another route to do it & getting the standby BCs to replace them, or there is no bus for that slot.
There are a few BCs I know that are familiar with all the routes of both SLBP & BBDEP services.

What you mean by doing 1 -2 trips first? If they are rostered for AM or split shift, then they have no time to try the route first?Originally posted by samtlk:they'll learn their routes for 1-2 trips before doing them.
Rostered BCs have days to learn the route in advance. Its those BCs on standby...they only know of their routes 5-10mins before. So if they don't know the route, they will follow another BC to learn the route...meaning there will be no bus for that slot during that period.Originally posted by stooper:What you mean by doing 1 -2 trips first?
