There was a batch of OF1413s with the exit doors at the rear. Passengers moved to the rear, leaving the middle part of the bus emptyOriginally posted by brotherchen1982:• Create exit doors at the back of the bus, like most private coaches have. Perhaps, bus companies can experiment with new buses with back doors, so that passengers have the incentive to move to the rear.

Draw the line on hogs who won't move to the back of the bus
COLIN TAN WEIJIAN
It is assumed that most bus passengers know they must move to the rear to allow others to board. However, this does not happen most of the time, hence causing a tight squeeze at the front of the bus.
These passengers do not move to the rear probably because of the hassle of squeezing to get to the exit when alighting.
Besides, there is a tendency for passengers to leave huge gaps between themselves and other standing passengers.
I have a few suggestions.
• Draw lines on the bus floor, denoting boxes of space a passenger can occupy. This way, passengers will know how much space they can occupy when standing, without hindering the movement of other passengers, and also to maximise the capacity of the bus. Also, passengers will know how much they should move in when there is empty space at the back of the bus. These boxes should be big enough for an average person to stand in, but also not too close. The number of boxes should correspond with the standing capacity of the bus.
• Create exit doors at the back of the bus, like most private coaches have. Perhaps, bus companies can experiment with new buses with back doors, so that passengers have the incentive to move to the rear.
• Bus captains should remember to ask passengers to move to the rear when required. Or, perhaps, Singaporeans need another campaign about moving to the rear.[/b]
he thinks everyone can just fit in the box for sure?Originally posted by brotherchen1982:• Draw lines on the bus floor, denoting boxes of space a passenger can occupy. have you ever seen a big sized man/woman board the bus sideways and occupying two seats before? because they really need two seats!
