As to why the Volvo buses are selected...there's a reason...it's not about showing off new buses. -

MK IV originally from SLBP and those transferred from BBDEP/ARBP, were deployed on SV 502 and also those IMF Shuttles... There are some spares one acting for reserve for IMF shuttles, and thus they are deployed on normal services if not in used. Just like those striders on TP services..they are actually spare for IMF shuttles -
