Accident or bus break down thread (July to Sept 2006)

9276M 88 abandoned at SKG. No lah, just kidding, BC walked 50m to bus-stop.
At the same time at HG Ave 8, in the same direction, 9034U 88 stalled at bus-stop. Good luck to those pax at SKG!
Replacement: 9101J from 72. -
No idea what happened. But 9014C of 174 is missing the front desto holder. (The red part surrouding the front desto). The whole glass is missing as well.
It came to BNL at around 3pm, with all destos taken off. It parked for a while, then left at around 3.45pm off service.
It didn't seem to be involved in any accident or anything since the upper and lower deck windscreens were still intact. There wasn't any dents or anything.
So probably the desto glass just dropped off midway! Like what happened to the windscreen of one of the 243 buses!
The bus was still okay when I took it yesterday. -

SBS9080K (Svc 51) collided with SBS0742T (Svc 165) at Hougang Central Int (around 10am) while the latter was at the alighting berth allowing passengers to alight. The DD was trying to overtake the MK III to an empty berth in-front. The MK III only lost a few scrapes of paint at the right-side rear while the LO's body just before the 2nd axle was twisted. The LO was taken off-service while the MK III continued on revenue service. -

SBS 9651M [HG 153] broke down at bus stop along Farrer Rd opp St Margaret's Sec Sch at 11.30pm -
An unidentified SBS Transit Mercedes MB O405/Duple Mestec OAC bus with a Carl's Junior "Please Don't Lick This Bus" advertisement was found apparently stalled at a bus stop somewhere along Thomson Road last night. Only the hazard lights were on, and there seemed to be nobody around or on the bus.
Guess like somebody ignore the plea written on the bus and licked it anyway... (SBS 1985C might get this joke...) -
6th August -->TIB 916R (SP AMDEP) Dennis Lance on 852 broke down at the bus stop in front of Nayang Girls School at 8.28am. The bus is empty and hazard lights are not turned on.

Noon time, Sv 22's SBS9180E on tow by SBST truck YK2791Z (TBC), along AMK Ave 9 towards AMDEP. -
Aug 10 around 0705 hrs ACCIDENT!
SBS411Z sv130 rammed into the rear of SBS1900Y sv100 at Connaught Dr os SRC{Direction twds Shenton Way}.
SBS1900Y was slightly damaged on the Right Side Rear
SBS411Z front Left side was crushed... windscreen wiper window fell to the floor in one piece intact...
Dun tink any1 was injured... -
60 workers hurt after three buses collided
Three buses were involved in a collision in front of Lakeside MRT station this morning.
About 60 workers were injured and conveyed to National University Hospital and Alexandra Hospital.
Our newsteam has the details.
The accident involved workers from two companies- marine company Vision Marine, and door stop manufacturer Dorma.
At about 6.50am, the Dorma bus was waiting outside Lakeside MRT to ferry the workers to work.
At the same time, the Vision Marine bus was ferrying its workers from their hostel in Taman Jurong to Jurong Shipyard.
Its believed that as the Vision Marine bus was making its way down Boon Lay Way, it crashed into the Dorma bus which then hit another bus.
Despite the magnitude of the accident, most of the passengers involved escaped with minor injuries.
Ten of them were sent to Alexandra Hospital, while about 50 were sent to NUH.
One of those sent to Alexandra Hospital was 39-year-old quality assurance technician Radin Ayob.
This morning while we were boarding the bus, one bus from behind suddenly shoot the back of our bus. Then our bus hit another bus. I think the first bus. I think the first bus all fully (occupied), I don't know how many (passengers were on it). The second bus we were still boarding, my bus. And the third bus was full.
Mr Radin sustained minor injuries on his arm.
However, his colleague Cheah Kong Liang wasn't so lucky.
We were boarding the bus and the other bus knocked into us. It was very loud. Then I fell onto the road. Arm fracture.
Many workers received two to six days of medical leave.
Five were hospitalised at NUH, but they are in stable condition.
Meanwhile, life goes on for at least one of the parties involved.

Won't affect much lah. Because our job mainly ordered by the shipyard so we'll ask them to replace other contractors for the job.

1255H of 187 broke down at BNL yesterday (Friday) around 5.45pm.
There was an SMRT truck behind it. But eventually, they used the interhcange PA system to call the SBST mechanic to fix the SMRT Nissan...
SMRT cannot even fix it's own buses...
Then later I saw it coming back to BNL on 187 (started halfway) at around 7pm... That means it must have broken down way before 5.45pm! -

SBS3651C (svc 39) broke down exactly at the junction of Pasir Ris Dr 1 and Dr 8 (Dr 1 from Pasir Ris West towards Loyang) at the afternoon about 3pm. -

16/08 Wednesday
SBS 9042X [SL 174] involved in an accident with a motorcycle. The bus was turning into Jurong Rd from Bt Batok Rd at 5.40pm when the motorcycle crashed into its exit. The rider was sent to hospital. The exit door glass was totally shattered. The accident blocked the entrance of Jurong Rd & all subsequent sv174 buses were stuck there. One BC even skipped Jurong Rd & turned into PIE instead
