Trivia About Singapore Buses/Bus-Related Topics

Do you guys know of any trivia about buses in Singapore that others might not know or have some misinformation about? It can be regarding anything - the buses, engines, interchanges, and so on.
Let me start by sharing one that I know:
Bedok Bus Interchange is not only the oldest bus interchange still surviving today, it is the only bus interchange to receive/once received all of the following:
- SBS Transit, SMRT, and CSS buses, all in one go (the only other interchange to have this now is Bukit Merah Bus Interchange)
- bendy buses from both SMRT and SBS Transit (Sadly, SBS Transit had sold their bendy buses off to New Zealand. The only other bus interchange that had this honour is Tampines Bus Interchange)
- buses that are powered by both diesel and C.N.G. (Only Toa Payoh, Serangoon, Eunos, and HabourFront bus interchanges - besides Jurong East and Boon Lay - can claim this)
- having both single-deck and double-deck low floor buses (Pasir Ris, Toa Payoh, Sengkang, HabourFront, Jurong East, Serangoon, and possibly Eunos bus interchanges are the other interchanges that can lay claim to this)
No other bus interchange can lay claim to all four "honours" at the same time

- 246 in Boon Lay comes only in a double deck non-aircon and nothing else..

Bedok has CNG buses too (Svc 66). I can claim this .

Jurong East has SBS 8019X - SBS 8028U (except 8024 & 8025) and the 8 buses are now on 78 perm.

But anyway, Choa Chu Kang does get three rather interesting buses too: the first bendy bus in Singapore (TIB 838H - are those unique seat handles still around?), the DAF with the Hispano front (TIB 700X), and as you mentioned, TIB 890E, the only public bus in Singapore with headrests on all seats. -

and seems that 172 have 2 interesing buses mainly TIB838H and TIB700X -
Woodlands Feeders (some trunk svs) uses almost all of the Volgren Bendies too

If you are lucky, you might see some in house pets like c0ckroaches in the bus..

Service 105 receive the most CNG Buses ever

The head-lamps of MKIV striders can also be fitted on VO3X Batch II, III?
Most tridents hardly have all 6 rear lights working at any point in time?

3625D (me) has an MB0405 WA front owing to a collision with an MB0405 WA years ago? There was 1 fatality. Incidentally, 3572Y also has a MB0405 WA front bcos of another accident.
79A has a Carrier aircon unit fitted in addition to the Fuji aircon unit bcos it spoilt? -

Here's one that really will get you digging into the history books, and one that most people would had never known about...
The first air-conditioned buses in Singapore were bought in not by SBS, not by TIBS, and not by any other private bus company, but by...
Singapore Traction Company (STC)!
Yes, STC brought a fleet of Isuzus (if I'm not wrong, their last mass purchases before they went belly-up in 1971), and two of the buses (registered STC 1 and STC 2, if I'm not wrong) were fitted with air-conditioning. These two are, rightfully, the first air-conditioned buses ever in Singapore, and also the first air-conditioned public buses in Singapore. The fate of these two buses after the fall of STC is pretty much unknown. Whether it survived long enough to become part of SBS' (now SBS Transit) first fleet of buses is unclear, but if it did, then it could also rightfully claim the title of SBS' first air-conditioned buses in it's fleet, way before the air-conditioned OF1413s, CAC "Baco" Victories, the demonstartor B10M with air-conditioning (all appearing around the mid-1980s), and so on. -

On the CNGs, similar things happen... When the bus brakes, either the engine or A/C quiets down. When the bus has fully stopped, the noise goes back to normal. may not be engine or A/C though...
