SMRT Buses "Anyhow" Parked!

I was out cycling in the Woodlands area just now, and I happened to pass by SMRT's Woodlands depot, when I saw something that just wasn't right.
SMRT buses parked everywhere at the side of the road, outside the depot, illegally.
To say I was shocked couldn't be more true. SMRT buses were parked at the side of the roads, around the depot area, mostly with the engine off. There were a few bendy buses among them too. Worse still, as if in a blantant disregard of security, one of the buses even had it's front door wide open!
When I saw the inside the depot, I was even more shocked. There seemed to be not enough parking space inside the depot, and buses were parked everywhere! It was like, "D***it nowhere to park! Aiyah I will anyhow put it here." kind of a situation.
I counted 11 or 12 buses parked outside the depot (one left when I was still there, and I suspect another bus that came in was parked like this too while I was there), and I estimate at least 15+ to 20+ buses parked in such an "anyhow" manner inside the depot!
Overcrowding? This is definitely a sign of it. Short of buses? I really don't think so!
For your info, I made a list of the buses that were parked outside the depot when I was there:
Mercedes MB O405 Hispano
- TIB 447C
- TIB 739K
- TIB 789R (if I'm not wrong, this was the bus with it's front door open)
- TIB 463E
- TIB 725A
Mercedes MB O405G Habit
- TIB 1089X
- TIB 1165J
Mercedes MB O405 with modified Volgren Cr221 body
- TIB 971E (the panel under the driver's window was taped to it - seems very unprofessional and hazardous!)

- TIB 834T
Nissan Diesel U31RCN OAC

I will go there one night, definitely!
But this overcrowding is quite serious, and 'anyhow park' plus parking outside would really pose security problems. SMRT should find a new bus park, or they can just park in Woodlands Regional! -

Even if anyone could succeed, where on earth can u hide them a 12m bus? -
this also happen at KJDEP. Some buses were parked along the roadside as well.

2 VO2Xs were stolen from Boon Lay Int before (most probably by ex-BCs since not many ppl know about the locking mechanism). They were later recovered with the coinboxes missing. Culprits still at large afaik.Originally posted by SBS2798U:Like would anyone want to steal those buses?

aiyah...of course lah overcrowding. smrt now has extra buses from former CSS fleet which is transferred. it will be worse when the new driving centre is built next to it...learning drivers will collide with the buses
it's high time they need a new depot...and new buses -

juz get rid of those ex-CSS CAC nissans n send them back 2 their geylang homeland

For your info, Tibs AMK Depot used to have this problem too in the past and many AMK buses were parked along the Industrial estate. In 2001, most of the Yishun AMK operated bus services had been amended to park overnight at Yishun Interchange to solve this problem
The planning for Woodlands depot is really very poor not only in this problem but also in bus deployment problems too... Woodlands depot should also amend to park their buses overnight at Woodlands interchange too since down there also have ample space for them to park their buses... -
