Better then having no 178 coming...Originally posted by TIB1018B:For service 178wait super LONG...and here comes a super SLOW CAC Nissan

the ELBO's actually can be low floor but only the front ... so i consider it as normal bus .....Originally posted by MuLaFlaga:Better then having no 178 coming.... Sometimes they do have cameos of o405s on it too (very very very very very very rare)
Should scrape the Nissans, or sell them to other countries as 2nd hand. I prefer them selling (back to Japan). Then the cash recieved from the sales, go purchase LOW FLOOR CITAROS. I dont remember any bus in the SMRT fleet is Low Floor from front to rear.
let me talk on this...Originally posted by vivienlee:Sv180 shld convert to a fully 12m bus sv wif bendy cameos, everytime bendy bus not fully packed![]()
Sell the OAC ones and scrap the CAC ones that will doOriginally posted by MuLaFlaga:Should scrape the Nissans, or sell them to other countries as 2nd hand. I prefer them selling (back to Japan). Ok i now agree with you , after i took 180 for so many times ... i guess this service uses full bendy fleet is better .... if 12m buses , think it will be packed like sardinesOriginally posted by muziq bus:let me talk on this...
180 NEEDS MORE bendies during afternoon peak from BNL to BP
180 need not have bendies from 11am-4pm
but...if that is possible...
then all services in Singapore deserves 12m
then 21 dont deserve WAB on off peak
14 dont deserve DD on off peak
51 as well...etc etc...
get my point?
try takin 180 on the afternoon peak...and then u will understand why...coz i've been there and done that for quite a few times...
isnt this what the operator want? to pack the bus as fully as possible? thats called maximising resources, maximising net profitOriginally posted by Volvo Olympian:Ok i now agree with you , after i took 180 for so many times ... i guess this service uses full bendy fleet is better .... if 12m buses , think it will be packed like sardines
I'd rather they actually scrape all!Originally posted by TIB1018B:Sell the OAC ones and scrap the CAC ones that will do![]()
Go to Woodlands Regional Interchange and look at how many bendies are deployed on FEEDER SERVICES ??Originally posted by 105090:isnt this what the operator want? to pack the bus as fully as possible? thats called maximising resources, maximising net profit
its not illegal to have standing passengers.....
its not illegal not to deploy bendy or double deckers.....
sv190 can all use 12m buses also nothing wrong of SMRT...
sv147 can come every 20mins and has a 90% full DD also like that..
but longer freq, bigger bus means less resources used![]()
goodness gracious! surely "bus fans" like you can use better terms to describe "rigid bus"Originally posted by Volvo Olympian:Although the bus is worse of all , but its better , if u use bendies on an low demand feeders , wouldn't you find it wasteful? So i guess rigid buses can do it![]()
But SBS used almost full DD fleet for 190.Originally posted by 105090:isnt this what the operator want? to pack the bus as fully as possible? thats called maximising resources, maximising net profit

Erm... Rigid is commonly used to describe non-bendy buses...Originally posted by gohby:goodness gracious! surely "bus fans" like you can use better terms to describe "rigid bus"it would be especially confusing to others. hmm... your vocabulary bank is so limited to that extent that you cant even find a better word to describe than rigid?
It is quite obvious that svc 190 has the highest demand for SMRT service due to its high frequency and high number of buses depolyed on it. What about the second highest demand? I vote for svc 804. Gd frequency plus bus quite packed.Originally posted by ah-soh:Which SMRT services do you think have the highest demand?
Personally I think is 187 as 187 seems to be heavy loaded everytime.
Thanks for your lovely comments anyway.Originally posted by SilverKris:Hehehe.....yeah lor.....I think gohby's vocab not so good, or perhaps he is unfamiliar with bus jargon but still want to act smart and correct the accurate terms lor
got standard rigid buses lah, articulated (bendy) buses lah, long rigid buses lah etc.
Of course i know what is meant by "rigid buses", but that is not the correct way to put it. I dare say many are confused with the term "rigid buses". All buses are inflexible what, even those articulated ones. Even though the articulated buses can "bend", but how can the bus body ever bend?Originally posted by stooper:Erm... Do a Google search...Originally posted by gohby:Now, Silverkris who is the uncultured idiot who has limited vocabulary, and still want to act smart and correct others who is correct??
Looks like you are the ones with RIGID brains lol.
187 always v pack..Originally posted by ah-soh:Which SMRT services do you think have the highest demand?

Do a google.com defination searchOriginally posted by stooper:Do a Google search...![]()

See how many people use Rigid Buses? Other bus companies do so (Lothian)...
I think you're the one who needs to widen your knowledge...
Enter your term into Google, take a look at the link at the bottom of the page or the 6th link.Originally posted by gohby:Even google cant define rigid buses, let alone you, or a bus company?
It is quite an informative survery that you have done. For svc 169, I strongly agree with you that it need bendies during the weekday peak hours especially friday evening when many NSF book out from Nee Soon Camp ad Sembawang camp that adds on to the passenger load of svc 169.Originally posted by Brother W. Sunikmaniam:ok based on my current survey
sv61 total 33 buses amdep 17 kjdep 16
needs more bendies on peak hours and weekends.deploy a perm lance like 1017 or 1018.off peak rigid bus will cope.deploy a perm hino for kjdep
sv67 need more bendies on weekends/ph pm onwards.frequencies should improved during weekdays peak.
sv77 should add 2 buses during the morning peak
sv106 should add 1 more rigid bus seriously.off peak can take more bendies off.
sv167 need two bendies on weekdays peak.cut 2 rigid buses off will do.weekends need not deploy bendies.
sv169 need almost full bendies on peak hours and weekends.
sv172 need additional bendy bus
sv190 exchange 2 rigid buses with bendies will do
