my thoughts are...write in to SBS Transit and let them handle it.Originally posted by jetabt767400:On 28th August 2006, me and my friends took service 174, SBS2700B (SLBP 66), from Bukit Batok to Orchard.
An Indian man boarded the bus at Bukit Timah, opposite the market. He did not pay the fare, and he was talking (thank god, not shouting) to himself. I glanced at him and many other passengers too got 'interested' in him. All was well then.
The bus approached the stop outside Bukit Timah field, near to Turf City. The bus captain pulled the bus over hard, and jumped out of the seat, hands on his waist...
'Get off, NOW!' he shouted. The Indian man smiled to himself, apologised 9to himself?!) and got off.
Did the BC had to be so angry at someone who is only mentally unsound? And what happened before, I really had no idea (I was sitting on the side facing seat). There were no shouting, no struggling, no vulgarities, all the way until the speedometer hit zero, the BC did the unthinkable...
Your thoughts please...
Listening to MP3 is ok wat help one overcome boardemn (correct spelling?). imagine u drive train to and fro PSR and BNL everyday. Eh very the sian leh.Originally posted by jetabt767400:I wrote in to SMRT via the feedback section but no reply till now. It was regarding the driver who listened to MP3 while driving the train.
Should I lose confidence in the fedback system, hard to say. More chances should be given, but it is almost a month, still no echo from SMRT.
This case is not that serious, to me, to report to the company, but discussing here will be ok, and besides I do want to share my experience only...
i guess the BC have the passengers interest n safety in mind. tats explains his actions. but i gotta agree its a little too extreme. perharps his attitude could have been nicer.Originally posted by jetabt767400:On 28th August 2006, me and my friends took service 174, SBS2700B (SLBP 66), from Bukit Batok to Orchard.

Care to explain what you mean by "your view towards SBS is now 67%"?Originally posted by MuLaFlaga:I happen to be on board the service , which is on 174. I saw thementally ill man boarded the bus, talking to himself, which then, he started to speak very loudly to the BC and passengers. If i did'nt hear wrongly, i heard the BC telling the man to "Shut Up" . Then the man went to his seat and started talking to himself. Then all almost went well till suddenly BC braked. got out of his seat, and told the man to "Get off NOW!".
I was shocked by how the BC had reacted to the man, and i believe other commuters are also shocked. Is there no other way for the BC to handle this matter in a more professional way? Instead of shouting at the man in front of all the fellow commuters? My view towards SBS is now to an average of 67% after this (down from 84%).
u ask politely, the mentally unsound man will step all over you.Originally posted by monoslayer:i guess the BC have the passengers interest n safety in mind. tats explains his actions. but i gotta agree its a little too extreme. perharps his attitude could have been nicer.![]()
Mmm yeah. Maybe the bus captains of that service all know of the man who probably always takes the service.Originally posted by samtlk:There's also a mentally unsound man in the Clementi area who always harrass the passengers & keeps pressing the bell. Most of the BCs will also bark at him because according the some BCs, if they are nice to him, he will scold them & continue his actions.
This way of handling should be the best to a mad man.Originally posted by MuLaFlaga:I happen to be on board the service , which is on 174. But it is an unprofessional way in my opinion.Originally posted by SBS9889U:This way of handling should be the best to a mad man.
I agree too, and luckily he did not pull the guy off... The best way is to let himbe, unless he threatens the passengers, as in my MRT incident...Originally posted by MuLaFlaga:But it is an unprofessional way in my opinion.![]()
