IMF Bus Depolyments

Heard frm the news that about 100 over buses depolyed. Most are the DM3500 that are refurbished and with ads like ( DBS bank, Standard Chartered, M1). 16 routes.
(with so many bus depolyed, would it affect some services like 506, 36, 99, 198?) -
Well, the deployments will be made to service all demands... With some spare buses around, there would be lots of cameos, get ready your books people...

There used to be a time, when all the NAC MK2s in SLBP were SP (except those on 251 and 252). Even 79 was FAC for a short while.
Then many buses got transfered away for 97e, 52, or to HGDEP, BNDEP. Now, all the remaining few MK2s are deployed as perm on a service. Making 79 & 335 from FAC to PAC. -
Dun think too much, usually is longer waiting time
Some svs, they die die wun deploy NAC buses one, those pampered svs -
Sv15 has many perms with DBS/M1/Standard Chartered ad.

Miserable time for some service during off peak. By the way, would we service like 36, 506 or 99 having mercedes benz? Those CNG buses, would they be depolyed for the IMF?

They use the MK4's (except DM) becos of the Bank Ads -

do you know that CNG gas is twice as expensive as normal fuel for normal buses ! -
For SLBP, the service that will kenna will be services like 179, 242, JIS services... Especially 179... Almost everyday got missing buses... During IMF, will have more holes... Since 179 is the "last resort"... next week onwards everyone be prepared to wait long long for bus services then
now adays frequency already so bad.. 74 can hit 25mins etc..
with IMF.. maybe 40 mins freq for certain services? -

I am expecting 1 hour wait for CT18 (Sometimes also like that). I expect 20 mins frequency for 15/16. Sv21 quite safe since B9TLs wont do the charter svc and can't really be deployed on other svcs(unless remove wheelchair stix) -

not sure abt standard chartered bank, but for DBS, they have said recently in a press release that they are rebranding themselves, spending over S$10M to create more awareness and new image, thus there are ads all over bus/paper/tv etc.Originally posted by SBS9828X:why must be bank ad? world bank and IMF got to do with our banks meh?
and for this, DBS have placed more than 40 ads on the buses of which most of it are MK IV, which are supposed to be used for the shuttle services. I think it is the largest advertisers for sBST right now and it is just sort of coincidence that the timing match to that of the IMF.
btw, i dun think there is any bus from AM/BR depot that bear the DBS ad? Correct me if i am wrong. -
I was dreaming that SMRT buses temporarily deployed on SBS Transit routes one day, when the buses are stretched to the full, training buses on normal routes and people starting to cry for better service, frequencies go up to 30-40 minutes in peak hours etc. I too dreamt about TIB525K, the hardcore trainer bus, going to service as all buses are out.
Hope this does not come true, or we do have a hard time... Anyway, just ready some stacks of foolscap paper and notebooks, this is going to be interesting. -
1st day observation
There are Xovers from other svcs
sv10 lost SBS2806E got SBS9524Y & SBS9572H SBS65P
on e whole svc is still acceptable but delays during peak hours are due 2 heavy traffic at bottleneck areas around Bras Basah Rd/Beach Rd.
Commuters mayb ve shifted 2 MRT than tfr bus 2 get to their destination...
All of e buses deployed for IMF shuttle are Striders/DM3500 -
