Are you referring to Crawford St? That road is pretty wide.Originally posted by autumncs:I kinda missed the Leyland Atlanteans... Haha... If I'm not wrong, sometime in the past when buses travelled from Kallang Road to North Bridge Road, they had to turn left from Kallang Road into this narrow and curvy lane that surrounds the outer perimeter of Kallang Gaswork. Whenever I sat at the upper deck of a LA on service 2 or 28 (I mean the old 28 between Tampines and New Bridge Rd), I was excited to see how the bus navigated through the narrow lane. (I dunno why I'm thrilled to see DD buses on narrow roads. Maybe as a child I was used to see DD buses navigating sharp narrow bends and tight corners and steep slopes in Hong Kong...)
If they did, what kind of desto did they use? SBS(T) so far has not had rectangular plastic desto with green words on a white background.Originally posted by Volvo Olympian:Did the VO2x ever do 186 before? I remember seeing the pic somewhere
No... It's not Crawford St. The bus turned left before it reached Kallang Gaswork. If I'm not wrong, the old service guides (in 1990?) stated "Geylang Rd, Kallang Rd, unnamed road, Crawford Rd, North Bridge Rd, etc". I'll verify that when I reached home tonight... Haha...Originally posted by iveco:Are you referring to Crawford St? That road is pretty wide.
Other buses with DDs that turned from Kallang Rd into Crawford St were 12 (LA) and 197 (LO2X, O305).
340U & 341S were 199 buses before they divided it into 179 & 199. For your info, 164L, 166G, 183G, 234T (and probably 371E, 3792D) were once 242 buses before the LO2x got withdrawn.Originally posted by chickenlittle2:Anyone knows wat was the former svc for SBS 315T. SBS 341S, SBS 113J , SBS 3783E and SBS 3755L before coming to 242?
Hmm... the old service guides never mention the narrow road... Maybe the narrow road was just a temporary diversion when Kallang Road was being upgraded.Originally posted by autumncs:No... VO2x on 31, most probably from bndepOriginally posted by choww:Remembered that VO2x were also available on sv31.SBS7288S.
Was it control by BNDEP/BRAM?
No, in fact the LO2xes replaced the VO2xes which most probably went 70, the VO2xes most probably replaced the Atlanteans.Originally posted by SBS9889U:They were perm back then. The VO2x replaced the LO2x or LAs if i aint wrong.
That road is Kampong Bugis. It was used as a temporary diversion road for vehicles going to North Bridge Road from Lavender Street / Kallang Road when Crawford Bridge was undergoing upgrading that time.Originally posted by autumncs:No... There were perm VO2x on 70 and 107, from amdep.
70 and 107 loved to use each other's LO2xes.

Yeah , the NDP 2005 if i remember correctly , 400A also use DD'sOriginally posted by No_10_Tomas:due to special events
at 1 time, DDs were on Sv 400 for some kind of events at marina south
Interesting. Would you mind telling us the source of that info? TL11 is a Leyland engine, not Cummins. So which is which?Originally posted by Scania:3554A had a Cummins TL11 engine and an Allison gearbox, I think the original engines and gearboxes was used as spare parts.
Did you see it for yourself or did you see a picture of it somewhere?Originally posted by Apex-LW'21:one of the Sv35 VO2x was SBS7206D.
It happens once every 5yrs when a huge carnival is being held at the Marina South Area. Started in the year 2000. Yr 2005 was the 2nd carnival. From my trip to there twice, 400A uses DDs to cope the high demand. Do note that the Container parking was converted to a Temp. Bus Park for SBS buses.Originally posted by Volvo Olympian:Yeah , the NDP 2005 if i remember correctly , 400A also use DD's
