Accident or bus break down thread (Oct to Dec 2006)

SBS 9028M had some tyre & gear problems , it was fine when it reached BNL ,
then the mechanic came to fix the prob ,
however it was late by 10 mins that the 174 queue was super long and by the time the DD came , picked up the load and was about to leave the int , another bus came . but it's axles were grinding all the way , noisy like 340U perviously -

SBS9028M was presumably late yesterday too, as there was a long queue and SBS3892Z that I was on caught up with it soon after leaving BNL. But on Jurong West Ave 2 it was slightly faster than the CAC, but when it reached the lights under Hong Kah flyover it had to brake hard due to a red light, 60-0km/h est. Then our bus overtook it at the first bus stop on Jurong Road. 9028M followed behind then.

Call several people, jump hard on the grinding axle, either you break it or fix it, can liao, at least got conclusion.

A Volvo Olympian double deck bus broke down near S'pore poly 7.56am. Rego appears to be 922X. It has a Creative ZEN MP3 ad that has the stik on thing.

An accident happened near the cross junction between Sembawang Road and Mandai Ave. The lorry crashes to the railings and the traffic lights at the divider, causing the sembawang road towards yishun direction to be blocked. As a result, svc 167, 169, 980 are diverted temporarily from using sembawang road to sembawang airbase, dieppe barracks and khatib camp and uses yishun ave 1 instead.
Time: in the morning.
At around 0702, the lorry is shifted and one lane is clear. One of the SMRT ppl comes up to the bus and tells us that the road in front is blocked because of an accident. Those going to Sembawang airbase or dieppe barracks have to alight. So I alight. Later when I arrive at the scene of the accident, I realise that one lane is clear and that bus 169 drives straight using that lane of Sembawang road.

TIB921A (service 980) broke down at bus stop outside Tekka Mall today at 2pm.

Board SBS9011K on sv143 from Eu Tong Sen St and break down at Orchard MRT Stn in the evening yesterday..

9513D of svc 99 just broke down @ 630 PM opp blk 728 , luckily it bunched with 1959D , then BC stopped bus flagged down 1959D and loaded the passengers of 9513D then BC chat some crap while passenger loading , etc -
892T 027 involved in what appears to be a pretty horrific chain accident involving a cement-mixer truck, several cars and the bus. The bus was in the bus-bay at the stop near the Budget Ter at Changi Airport when it occured. The bumper was half-hanging and the rear window was shattered on the floor. But the worst-hit was the truck which had the entire driver cabin folded in and mangled. No idea how it got into that state although I doubt it was due to the bus given that the bus does not appear to be that seriously damaged. Saw the truck 2 more times, once when I left airport and another time when 952D 027 I was on overtook the truck and the tow-truck. The damage was truly horrific, but the passenger side appeared to have borne the brunt of the damage. But the driver side was also a gone-case and there are evidence of what appears to be cutters cutting through the roof to extricate the driver because it was missing.

Ok, SBS9540A broke down at Sengkang Int this afternoon, around 1500hrs, lights are operating, engine seems fine too but recovery truck was on scene to investigate. Kickstart operation cables (XL Crocrodile clips red/black plus thick thick wires) seen lying at alighting bay.
Very smelly and hot SKG Int today, esp with bus broken down and haze at about 80... In the bus bays only of course... -
