Am I the only person who who likes the nissans? They're about the only buses of any character in an otherwise extremely boring fleet of buses in SG.

haizz... I seldom had the chance to take the UDs, and when I saw one, I would be extremely excited and hope to take it one day. I love them as they have this "old retro style" which is the only one that can be found here.

BTW , I took CSS192T on 187 just now , was quite ok with it , the AC is quite ok .... not many paxes , like those brown seats (which looks nostalgic) and yeah , can speed a bit on BKE. It's a bus.
Unique doors.
Cheap.
At least it has a ZF gearbox, imagine an Allison.
BAD
OUCH! Suspension hurts.
The comfort level isn't there either.
The air-con? It's as cold as a Hispa"no"cold.
The structural integrity doesn't look up to the mark.
Of course, your all time complaint - poorly maintained.

Other Bus Fan always try to find an alternative route when I want to take S 608. <--- Dunno if it is because there is not BCP or cuz of other reason.

And is being a Japanese bus a good point?
I personally think the sliding door is a bad point since it wastes 2 seats because of the space required for the door.
And moreover, the DOOR CLOSING sign never works peroperly. It only flashes with no sound or vice versa.
Or sometimes, door closed already, then switch on...
Or even worse, wire wrongly, I think its 375B, the DOOR CLOSING will light and sound when doors are about to open. Then nothing will show when doors close... -

GOOD (II)
- At least it can travel rather fast, but whether it makes it in one piece is another issue. :LOL:
BAD (II)
- It has too high a chassis height, yet it doesn't offer advantages that the B10M has. If I compare this with the MK II, won't the MK II beat the Nissans hands-down?
- I don't think the fare is worth it, for such "impeccable" service. Free bumps, free sauna, and literally free injuries!
Hence I still think the Nissan cannot make it in SG. SMRT should consider the K-series of Scanias. Fits in beautifully with their strict budgetting. Buy only the chassis, APPEAL to CDGE or any other cheap bodywork maker to body the bus. (cheaper than Scania's own bodywork, if they have). But what about the capital?

Heavy condensation on A/C on rainy days, making the roof under the A/C compressor dripping...
Either that or non-functioning A/Cs...
Multiple jerkings when changing gear...

Very bad legroom, especially over the rear wheel arch. They could have installed longtitudinal seats, like SBST Scanias.
Very bad legroom at the rear for CAC Nissans with replaced seats (e.g. 1250X). And also very dusty seats (SMRT style)
When it rains, footprints can be seen all over the metal floor, making it slippery
It's actually not able to speed that well.
I remember, a while ago when BNL old interchange was still open, 2 drivers were talking to each other, after reaching BNL together on 178... They say something about late and speeding... Then later, one of the shouted "NISSAN, leh!" then both of them laugh...
Bus looks very ugly, both internally and externally..

I think I feel that the Nissans are deemed unsuitable on some services like 980. SMRT should look into the situation and hope to deploy more MB O405 rigid buses instead.
