NEW Service 985W

With effective from Sunday 15 Oct 2006 , SMRT Will be introducing Service 985W for a trial period of 3 months to ply along Bt Batok Rd and Bt Batok West Ave 7 in both directions. This Service will ply an alternative trips with the existing of Service 985. Posters are up along Service 985 bus stops.

I saw this also. Anyone knows why there is such an arrangement?

It won't last for sure. this route is 985's old route, in which it plys along somewhere no one would board from...i mean seriously, they amended 985 few monhs back to increse the pax but now they are reversing it back? they're merely wasting their buses on this 985W route

Anyway, with 985W, BBDC and Swiss Cottage pax can take 945. Like me. No difference. 985 and 945 aid one another. -

and, there are bendies to help cope on 188
and, dont ask me to wake up, i take 985 EVERY SINGLE MORNING! Unlike others here who keep complaining. At 7am at BB, 1 bendy cameo, 705-710, another 12 m(TIB 676)
I have no complain.
Did you consider traffic and loading time?
One particular morning in 985 bendy(BB AVE 2, BLK 241), the loading time was slow(ppl nvr move in), after that, traffic turning right took 5 minutes+. (miss 3 traffic turns coz Q long. And another repitition at BB Central.
The morning load for 985 is heavy coz of Hillgrove, Dunearn, Swiss Cottage, Pioneer JC and TWSS.
All these have alternatives. Even the students know and they do take alternatives. During school holz, bus practically useless but i still board.
If you wanna complain, then ride 985 everyday.
Only then, your complain is worth reading -
Is the new service 985W timetable an additional timeslot for sv985 or it will adjust with sv985?

AFAIK.. you are NOT the one who takes 985 everyday.. Dont try to act BIG here and yaya that as if you know about every other thing.. You should be the one who wake up your Bloody IDEAS and stop acting as if you are a "Senior" member in here. AFAIK, you still fall under the "JUNIOR" section. -

I dont know whether to laugh or cry. You, being a person who hasnt left west at all, do not experience the pain experienced by the 985 pax at the other end near toa payoh and geylang. IT takes an average of 15 to 20 minutes before a 985 arrives.
And please use your own experiences. Dont rely on the bus guide so heavily. If it states 13 minutes at most will you really go and sheepishly believe in it?

it was quite a blow when 989 was shortened/ merged with 185.
now with this 985W, getting from bt timah/ BB to Boon Keng may just take longer..
so i guess say theres 15 buses for 985, and now only about 8 will ply full route while 985W will have 7 buses plus 945 and full route 985 aiding it within BB?
same case for 98 and 98A? and the historic 170 where a Larkin-bound 170 can takes more than 30mins at customs
