I never demanded too much, just for some normal, sensical things. I underlined my understanding first, but never say that it cannot be accomplished.

Most of slbp Mercs' exterior don't look nice, especially with the removed dress rims. amdep has dress rims for most of its buses. It is very easy to differenciate an amdep Merc and slbp Merc.
Look at how (former perms in brackets) 202K (am 105), 301H (am 105), 3873D (am 105), 276Y (am 15
, 390A (br 231W), and the 105 buses like 467M, 488C, 474S have degraded after shifting from amdep to slbp.
I recommend that you go to amdep areas and take their Mercs to compare.
I would say 410B sounds nicer now than the first few weeks it went to amdep. -

Interior cleanliness I must say that it depends on the people who take the bus. 502 usually don't get that much teens, most of them are office workers who are considerate.

I need to make some correction.
SL used to be last in the least for so many years until mid 2005 when the status changed. The position shot up fast and a lot of managment overhauls were made. Even though SL has the oldest buses.
Based on actual workshop report statistics in 2005, SL ranked No:1 while AMK ranked last. But overall after so many years, BN and HG are those that managed to maintain. Never last though never first. Not that I can still remeber of.
In 2006, our latest stats based on different breakdown stats, engineering quality, audits carried out by HQ, SL is still top ranking with the least safety features breech, least breakdown stats. Also on top of that, costs, labour were also taken into consideration. Since January to July 2006, SL has managed to score 70+% points as the leading workshop and AMK being the second maintains at 40+%. A very wide gap. The only time that AMK managed to close in was in Augut when SL failed to grasps the costs factor, but had the best breakdown rate for the whole year and slips to 45% while AMK at 42%. However even so, SL still manages to maintain No:1
As the fleet management GM & the 5 MGRs also know. SL has the better workshop managements if we were to compare the 5. Has the highest pay/bus ratio. Has the best engineering projects advancement.
Comparing the work attitude of the various workshops, SL always have a higher quality as SL do not advocate the blind adherance of regulations but rather based on actual facts. This can be seen from the engineering projects carried out on same problems yet different solving methods. Of the 5 Tech offrs in SL, 3 were from the military and have better insights towards modern day management rather than the traditional old Singaporean Chinese management style. The other 2 though have been old, they still have a different type of charms. The workshop is very united from top to bottom based on meritocracy and not on race.
On the whole, I am not saying the other 4 workshops are not good. But based on all the actual stats, the other workshops are still catching up while SL is leading.
1 thing I learnt while in SBST is to view things through actual stats and not via personal experiences. In this way we can get the correct actual numbers to give the correct accessments. Especially when I have to write the employee accessments for year end employee dividends. -
If I were to base it on experience, BB and BN have some of the worst buses.

From what I see my opnion, HGDEP buses are the most dirtiest, sometime I have even to help them to pick up the litter
A Balance View
Take for eg. SBS1888A
when I took it on 182, it was zzz.... the bus will vibrate when it start to speed.
but when I took it on for eg 372 it was better than before
But for SBS1718H
After a few months it came to HG
When the bus start to speed, near the wheel, it will start to kok kok and it will be noisy and thus affecting the speed when I took it on Sv 119. But the problem didn't resolved yet after a few weeks when I took it on Sv107 even though this bus give me a good impression
I have a lot of thing to comment on SBS2763U
This bus gives me a .......... experience

When compared with SLBP LOs, SLBP buses are much better.

BB/AR buses may look a bit broken sometimes.. the mk2 they never repaint into new SBST livery..
in terms of seats, BB/AR replaces the seats instead of patching up. thats good. the interior of buses also quite OK.. BB like most traditional.. likes to keep all the old destos etc.. even rectangle 174M
HG buses.. the NAC mk2 and mk4 DM very bad shape.. the seats always comes out.. but generally, also not bad
AMK and SL generally quite well maintained.. but SL Merc looks quite dusty and tired..
For Bedok, the AC buses sometimes quite warm.. they got large fleets of Scania, Volvo, VO3x.. need to "specialise" in so many models..
AMK and SL mainly specialise in Merc and Leyland -
SL has also refurbished certain 0405 CAC DM interior flooring , like 3754P , 3755L . 3851S , etc . so it is maintaing the buses well .

Go and take some amdep Mercs to compare, amdep do replace the flooring, just that you haven't seen some. if you smell the new bus smell, then it most probably has a)new seats or b)new flooring. many amdep mercs have this new flooring, just that its the same color as the old one, not very noticable.
You need to hear some amdep Mercs and compare them with slbp Mercs.
Eh amdep does repair other depot's buses, bndep Scanias, Mk4s regularly go to amdep for maintenance. brbp does maintenance for B10TLs, so you see 9889U regularly in brbp and previously, 2988M and 2989K.
bbdep does maintenance of 2647Y. -
