Maybe the reason why some Volvo buses at some of the depots seem to have holes beside badges, means that there was an older badged fixed. Also many of the Mercs in amdep have O.305 badges.Originally posted by stooper:Yeah! I sometimes get surprised with that! Previosuly buses had no badges, but then later, you see a badge on it!
Examples I remember are 6942T, 6949A, 298J, 3736S, 3737P (3736S/3737P is very obvious)
One strange thing is that, on LOs, why is it always the "Ley" part of the Leyland badge that breaks off? Quite a number of buses only have the "land" part of Leyland! I haven't see a bus with the "land" broken off yet...
Especially the DM ones like 486H.Originally posted by Scania:Maybe the reason why some Volvo buses at some of the depots seem to have holes beside badges, means that there was an older badged fixed. Also many of the Mercs in amdep have O.305 badges.
You mean the CRBs with Alexander PS or CRLs with the Strider range?Originally posted by off_service:Scanias had bodyworks too light for their powerful engine hence the vibration.
I do think all 3 bodyworks, Alexander PS, Strider and ELBO are too light, hence the vibration. I do feel the only body that will no vibrate to badly would be using sturdy bodies such as those on UDs, or use the engine on DDs (Like DRBs).Originally posted by iveco:You mean the CRBs with Alexander PS or CRLs with the Strider range?
BTW, why weren't there any DM body kits for Scanias? Even the Dennis Lances had Alexander PS (UK & HK) and Strider (UK - Arriva Merseyside) bodywork, although all the Dennis buses in SG come with DM body.
That;s why i feel that the importance of having SBST/SMRT staff in the forum,At least they get first hand feedback from bus fans!!Originally posted by stooper:Yeah! I sometimes get surprised with that! Previosuly buses had no badges, but then later, you see a badge on it!

I believe they can sort out the sheep from the goats. Don't worry too much.Originally posted by SBS2798U:Have SMRT and SBST staff on this forums? Rather not.
There's nothing serious going on in here except for crap.

u boss of SLBP right?Originally posted by MS:Thanks for all your compliments. Like I said before, in good business sense, that you pay good bus fares, it is only natural that I do whatever I can to ensure you get your buck's worth.
Indeed, according to actual statistics SLWS is the best performing workshop amongst the 5. SLWS is the best all rounder of all aspects, various breakdown stats, costs, etc etc... Although I have most of the oldest buses and the brain tumour inducing Leyland 3xle, SLWS is blessed to have the more efficient MSOs, more united technicians. Most of my subordinates are very efficient. With limited resources, we're trying very hard to give whatever we can to the commuters. Hope you all can give more support to ride our buses.

Newest depot yes, however it isn't the largest depot, hgdep can hold more buses than slbp.Originally posted by chickenlittle2:By the way, SLBP now is still the latest and largest bus depot with multi-story bus park??
All my examples for the Scanias, SBST and SMRT.Originally posted by manjieass:i think hispano body don really vibrate at all.. esp the front half..
WHat about WLDEP (SMRT Bus)?Originally posted by Scania:Newest depot yes, however it isn't the largest depot, hgdep can hold more buses than slbp.

wad about BRAM????Originally posted by 105090:from the commuters view, or from my view..
BB/AR buses may look a bit broken sometimes.. the mk2 they never repaint into new SBST livery..
in terms of seats, BB/AR replaces the seats instead of patching up. thats good. the interior of buses also quite OK.. BB like most traditional.. likes to keep all the old destos etc.. even rectangle 174M
HG buses.. the NAC mk2 and mk4 DM very bad shape.. the seats always comes out.. but generally, also not bad
AMK and SL generally quite well maintained.. but SL Merc looks quite dusty and tired..
For Bedok, the AC buses sometimes quite warm.. they got large fleets of Scania, Volvo, VO3x.. need to "specialise" in so many models..
AMK and SL mainly specialise in Merc and Leyland
BRAM and AMDEP is interchangableOriginally posted by SBS9888Y:wad about BRAM????my fave depot

but it has lyk the old broken down buses... and if u notice their mercedes fleet they remove the plate on the tyres... is it for identification? but wen they are transferred to BRAM or AMKDEP the plates are not put back!!! so wad is the purpose of this plate fixed on the grooves of the tyre like the VSOs and 2888T and 1984EOriginally posted by chickenlittle2:By the way, SLBP now is still the latest and largest bus depot with multi-story bus park??

Originally posted by SBS9888Y:The 'plates' you are talking about are known as 'dress rims'. It is just for cosmetic purpose. It makes the wheel look nicer by having the nuts sitting in their own socket and flushed at the top. Without it, it does look a bit ugly but the bus can still run, no problemo. Beats me why they never put them back on. Maybe they forgot. Maybe they can't be bothered since it doesn't affect the bus. Maybe the rims came loose and was lost. I believe there are still some SLBP Merc with their dress rims intact, aren't there?
