Extension of Service 54 to Bishan St 13

  Service 54 will be extended to Bishan St 13 wef from 5 Nov 06.It will duplicate with service 56 in Bishan St 13.

  Now Bishan St 13 residents and students have another alternative while this change does not really affect other 54 commuters.

  People living in Bishan are really lucky. In one year, they have so many new services (e.g. 52, 57, 58, 59...) and now 54 is extended.
  
  Also, during the "Tap In Tap Out" promotion from May to July, all bus services serving Bishan (except 156) offer double tokens per ride, while in some other areas, the bus services only offer one token per ride.
  
  Why is SBST so nice to Bishan? I'm just curious...

  the influx of new services is because it was previously inadquately served in terms of number of trunk services.
  
  with almost 20,000 HDB households and another 10,000 private housing households now living in bishan new town, at least 9 trunk bus services from the interchange are required. however, there was only services 13, 53, 54, 55, 56, 88 and 156 available then. hence, it was agreed upon that more services need to be introduced in bishan.
