My Life as a Bus Captain

,I'm Norman here,Age 30,Married with two kids.I want to share something about my life as a BC.Some of the senior members here knew that i was an HGDEP BC previously,But due to some family bussiness,I decided to quit the job on March this year.But recently,I did make a comeback in this line but from a different district,That is East side.Possibility that i'm based at BRBP.Hope so,So this is a bit of my diary i want to share..
Feb 2004,Went for Class 4A(I did not have Class 4 at that time)training(Both basic & practical)for at least a month plus before i graduate for service learning with of course three diff mentors for three diff learn services..
1st Service:325(before amendment)for 1 week,Quite boring,Many trips,Old timers..
2nd Service:83,Quite challenging,I was warned once for not turning on the lights @ Sengkang,Lucky my mentor who was once the perm BC of S116 explains to the Senior Timekeeper.My biggest challenges is from the Secondary School students at Punggol,Headache!! :wacko:Last for 2 weeks
3rd Service:112,Boring sia,Almost every trip i was early for an average of 5-10 mins ,Boring point,Partial AC!!Last for 1 month
4th Service:100.Aha,Real world,Real challenges,And my first time minor accident with a car at Aljunied Rd :angry:Attached for 6 months as a split-shift BC
5th service:Standby BC,Quite fun to learn many services authorised by the despatcher there,But did not get the chances to drive all,Services that i've learn and drive,S11,S27,S62,S82,S83,S100,S101,S103,S105,S112,S113,S115,S151,S158,S315,S317 & S325,The ones that i've learned but got no chances to drive are S43,S51,S156,S161& S165.After that i was offered as a service 34 perm BC which was really bored for me.I've tried numerous of times pleading with the route manager for a transfer on other services or other Interchange but was rejected.I ride my Brother Motorcycle for the first month,After that i take employee bus on Night shift.I tried to apply at SMRT recently but as usual they always replied after i was selected by SBST <_< <_< :angry: But anyway,I hope for a better life at East district this time,One of my neighbour already learn Double decker after the 3 month confirmation and now are applying for a perm service at Ang Mo Kio :blink: It was almost impossible @ West district!I hope that i'll have a good luck this time around and hopes for you'll blessing -

I remembered the BC who drove SBS2680A on Sv107 is you, as you had state here earlier, and when I saw and heard the bus even thought didn't get a chance to sit your bus, there is screaching which the rpm went high(overun). Because all the time except that time, I will not hear SBS2680A screech until like hell and the overun sound too

Quite a few BCs I talked to pointed to the MKIII as one of their favourites. But it was not surprising to me.

Does a BC learn to drive both DD and SD or only one?

Eh, Norman live in EUN rite? Probably why he might be based @ BRAM.
SMRT SCs living in the East like rather cut off from their operating areas as SMRT Buses main base is in the North area. -

It's a breeze if your services ply more expressways if you drive bendies,And DDs for city areas,However there are exceptional too,Some pax like the panorama on the DD upper deck while some just like a bit faster
