Firstly this is a NAC Bus so MERCZ and Scania OAC are out. There is also a seat facing the walkway which mean MK II are out. So there is only Scania NAC left. So if its perm its SBS 3580 Z if not then its other NAC Scanias.Originally posted by swee_heng:What i think of this bus could be a OAC Scania but it could be Merz coz it has a purple thing at the side.
Since the Aussies are great fans of the L94UB, maybe SBST can sell off their only one.Originally posted by The_Bus_Guide:Don't be sad. Its just that the time hasn't come for the SD yet. The last withdrawal were for the LO2X, so here are their replacements. Next up, we will likely see new SD for the Mk II, N113 and O405 over the next 3-5 years. Patience please.
1688 and 2888 were trial buses. Its good to try out something new (in this case, stepless buses) before deciding to push forward and buy in bulk. Some trial buses had proven their worth while many others had failed. SBST has already bought more B10BLE. The Gassies, remember? I won't be surprised if SBST introduce a WAB SD after the B9TL.
Oh Boy.. you really dont learn your lesson...Originally posted by Y_Shun:Thats what I am saying.
Nobody knows if theres new buses or even if theres NO new buses.
You all also don't have any proof that there isn't any new buses?? (Ohh, oh, you said you asked the BCs)
Asking the BCs? they in management meh? Why not you ask the buying department(whatever you call) in SBST whether there are new buses? Even if they are buying new buses, would they even tell us?Doubt they will even reply you, thats why discussions comes.
And look, I was just enquiring about this, I didn't even stress theres surely a new bus.
If you all just care about route amendment, bus trips you took, bus cameos, I think all these forums should rather close down since it is useless.
Even starting a topic(that you say it is not real/true) that is different & something worth to discuss is so hard, and you get responses such as "case closed", "not possible", "rumour"...what for having any forums? Rumours(whether or not there is substantial proof) sometimes are also worth to discuss...
If you think it is not worth to discuss, then don't reply to the topic =)

WHO SAYS? WHEN NEW BUSES ARE PURCHASED THEY ARE MADE KNOWN THROUGH PRESS RELEASES. COME ON... DONT ACR SMART AND SAY NOBODY KNOWS. Such a simple logic also dont know, what a failure.

Come on. BCs must know at least what happened within the company for sure. If they are not aware about the arrival of new buses how do you expect them to drive?

HELLO. WHICH BLOODY PERSON WILL ONLY CONCENTRATE ON THESE ONLY? THEY ARE NOT EVEN FIT TO BE CALLED BUS ENTHUSIAST. DONT BE A DREAMER AND MAKE YOUR OWN ASSUMPTIONS!

Why do you like to discuss on something that is not true?

Then why do you start this damn bloody topic in the first place to discuss about it? You are making a fool of yourself. Get a life and dont pretend that you are someone who knows-it-all.
But if the 20 yr old bus still has good engines? SBST might sell them outOriginally posted by eX.A.K.R.:Just to add... some time back, I was talking with a Volvo B9TL bus driver on route 147 (SBS 7325T) (this was just sometime after route 147 became an "official" WAB service), and he mentioned that SBS Transit will be introducing single-deck wheelchair-accessible buses next year. He added that buses are scrapped depending on the condition of their engines, but 20 years is definitely bye-bye for them.

The life span of public buses is 17 years. It is good if SBS could sell the buses before the retirement age. The extra lifespan to 20 years is only possible with the approval of the LTA. No further extension is allowed after that. If there is a buyer for the buses, then SBS can sell them. If not, then there is no choice but to send for scrap.Originally posted by swee_heng:But if the 20 yr old bus still has good engines? SBST might sell them out
