Enhancements to SMRT 859 and 980

Sembawang Dr (opp sun plaza)
Sembawng Way (opp Sembawng Stn)
In the direction towards Yishun it will no longer call at bus stops aft Admiralty Karimum Country Club and b4 Sembawang Stn
Svc 980
amended to serve
Canberra Rd (b4 Sembawang Stn)
Canberra Rd (Blk 351 CP)
Admiralty Drive (Blk 353)
Admiralty Drive (Blk 354 CP)
Sembawang Drive (Sun Plaza)
b4 continuing on its current route to Geylang Lorong 1

Actually, I knew about this a few days ago as I saw the notice for the service captains to familiarize them at the Sembawang bus interchange passenger service counter. I was afraid that they might make route 859 skip either Sembawang Crescent or Admiralty Drive, and was hoping that route 980 could be extended to use the whole stretch of Admiralty Drive and also the two unused bus stops along Sembawang Way (one is where route 859 used to call at). While the former luckily did not happen (and route 859 finally makes a comeback at Sun Plaza, one year after they stupidly decided to skip that part), I can't really say the same about route 980.
SMRT should have considered making route 980 use this route:
Sembawang Bus Interchange, Sembawang Vista, Canberra Road, Admiralty Drive, Sembawang Way, Sembawang Drive, Sembawang Avenue, and then continue on it's old route towards Geylang Lorong 1 Terminal (italics denote express/non-stop sector)
It seems to me that SMRT is trying to copy the SBS Transit route philosophy - trunk routes should go around the town and double up as feeder routes too, to pick up/drop off more passengers and create less transferring. Maybe they should review route 882 too, you know

In fact I also feel that SMRT should also divert services 858/965/969 to Sembawang so as to have direct links from Sembawang to areas like Sengkang/Tampines/Changi Airport.

SMRT would use this amendment to cover all parts of Sembawang New Town rather than coming up with new feeder services like other New Towns.

It shouldn't be by much though, especially if they follow the MRT route all the way towards Yishun.
