i think he's refering to the similar bottleneck congestion happening at Ngee Ann City (the road behind la)Originally posted by iveco:What's with Ngee Ann City? Anyway, VivoCity got no ERP gantries nearby. Nice suburban mall for those living on the south coast (CLE, Pasir Panjang, BMR).

Eh, that poster has been there since a long time, when 9843B was perm on 161....Originally posted by TWS4793:Eunos Interchange have a sign in the form of something like an ad or dunno what. The sign featured SBS 9843B on Service 161.
A safety campaign poster of waiting for bus behind the yellow line. That poster was first put up in 2003.Originally posted by TWS4793:Eunos Interchange have a sign in the form of something like an ad or dunno what. The sign featured SBS 9843B on Service 161.
It seems that the closure of Somerset Rd did nothing to solve the congestion problems. Rather, it only made it more inconvenient for commuters who must walk further to catch the bus if they are not headed for Scotts Rd. Buses turning into Scotts Rd also have to make a detour to get to Ngee Ann City.Originally posted by SBS3688Y:i think he's refering to the similar bottleneck congestion happening at Ngee Ann City (the road behind la)
Are you sure that there are the only 2 Sv 34 Mk3s with the new rego plates? Go check again.Originally posted by TWS4793:Should either be SBS 0680M or SBS 0769S since both of them bears the same Courts Megastore ad, but both buses unconfirmed of new rego.
From what I know, SBS 0678X and SBS 0744M are the only two 34 HGDEP buses to have new regos so far.
I think not only Eunos Int but some other SBST Ints have.Originally posted by TWS4793:Eunos Interchange have a sign in the form of something like an ad or dunno what. The sign featured SBS 9843B on Service 161.
Hougang Interchange also has that poster. Some more it's near route 161's boarding berthOriginally posted by Volvo Olympian:I think not only Eunos Int but some other SBST Ints have.

It would have been better for the bus stop on Orchard Lk to have stayed and Somerset Rd between Grange Rd and Orchard Lk turned into a dedicated bus way.
The berth they used was the ex-511 and 512 berth (eh people who dunno, its now 74, 147 and 527 (74e) berth), they were empty after the NEL rationalisation, so they made used of it.Originally posted by eX.A.K.R.:Hougang Interchange also has that poster. Just went to Vivo on May Day (Public holiday). Of course there was jam but the Service 10 i was on, the BC very proOriginally posted by TWS4793:My guess would be that people really like to go to Vivocity. Last year both me and my father was going to Sentosa for a dinner when there was a big traffic jam at almost the whole stretch of road just outside Vivocity (not sure of that road name)! My father's car even pulled up behind SBS 0754J on Service 100, so I took the advantage of capturing the back of the bus with my camera phone.
My friend did also raise this concern in his blog about the heavy traffic jam at Vivocity that area while he was on Service 145 on his way back to his house in Telok Banglah.
he still lives in 1999, though i agree predestrains have to walk further from Youth Park to Ngee Ann City.Originally posted by sbst275:It has alrdy smoothened traffic condition over there
That 2 box junction under the old format created havoc cos of the traffic timing
All because of Fort Canning TunnelOriginally posted by SBS3688Y:# 1:
From the Stamford Rd Capitol Bldg bus-stop, buses got to cut all the way to the right lane to turn towards Orchard Rd at the junction of Fort Canning tunnel.
# 2:
and buses along Penang Rd got to cut all the way from the leftmost lane to the rightmost lane to reach the bus-stop outside Dhoby Ghaut MRT stn.
# 3:
then buses leaving Dhoby Ghaut MRT stn bus-stop got to cut all the way to back to the left lane
# 4:
and making frustrating turns at those weird junctions after leaving Somerset MRT stn bus-stop.

Not necessary true.Originally posted by SBS3688Y:many pax on FFw 74e are only short distance travellers (many travel up to AMK only); and most actually got options to travel on other normal routes (eg svc 74,165) - but they rather prefer to pay more for faster travel whichever bus comes first.
their money, they feel rich, let them pay lorOriginally posted by SBS1985C:Not necessary true.
Some pay do not even know they are paying more. They just take whatever bus that goes to their destination.
EG 10 / 10e people board at Upper East Coast to alight only stops later when 10 , 14 plys exactly the same route.
Just like Express 502 lor.. Those pple who only take a few stops along Jurong West and East when they can take others service. These pple can be the irritate one cos they would just delay the pple going to the town.Originally posted by service_238:their money, they feel rich, let them pay lor
though its not exactly sbst's target commuters. but i guess sbst dont mind earning some more cents from them anyway
