It seems that the closure of Somerset Rd did nothing to solve the congestion problems. Rather, it only made it more inconvenient for commuters who must walk further to catch the bus if they are not headed for Scotts Rd. That 2 box junction under the old format created havoc cos of the traffic timing -

My friend did also raise this concern in his blog about the heavy traffic jam at Vivocity that area while he was on Service 145 on his way back to his house in Telok Banglah.
Right after KTM Stn there only the BC kept to the right most lane already (Dint even bother if bus stop down will have people boarding or alighting :p ). Then he chiong all the way until traffic light there. Along Telok Blangah Rd, although there were some car on the right most lane, the bus was still very fast, compared to SBS 2647 Y that was stuck in the 1st lane and another Sv57 bus stuck in the 2nd lane He finally turn back to 1st lane when he reach vivo. -

and buses along Penang Rd got to cut all the way from the leftmost lane to the rightmost lane to reach the bus-stop outside Dhoby Ghaut MRT stn.

then buses leaving Dhoby Ghaut MRT stn bus-stop got to cut all the way to back to the left lane

Some pay do not even know they are paying more. They just take whatever bus that goes to their destination.
EG 10 / 10e people board at Upper East Coast to alight only stops later when 10 , 14 plys exactly the same route. -
