Erm.. the entire chassis is still Mercedes...Originally posted by SBS BUSES LOVER:wow .
then they might as well strip of the merc logo at the front of the bus
I do not believe that 549K has a Dennis engine. It sounded like all other Voith Mercs.Originally posted by samtlk:SBS 549K uses a Dennis engine instead of a Merc engine? There's even a Dennis logo on the rear engine cover.
Yeah, in the previous page of this thread, I mentioned 1780B has a Transbus window!Originally posted by Scania:If you did see a Dennis logo this is one explanation for the Dennis logo, Duple Metsec was under the Mayflower group, which Dennis was also under. then it was part of Transbus international, now it is Alexander Dennis. So basically all WA and DM parts come from Alexander Dennis now.
I believe Dennis uses Cummins engines, instead of manufacturing engines themselves. Thus the name, Dennis Specialist Vehicles, instead of Dennis Motors Co.Originally posted by stooper:Erm.. the entire chassis is still Mercedes...
But in the first place, I don't believe Dennis manufactures engine?![]()
Think he must mistaken it for DennisOriginally posted by stooper:Yeah, in the previous page of this thread, I mentioned 1780B has a Transbus window!
I see DM handgrabs in Batch3 VO3x though...Are they the original handgrabs or have they been replaced before?
And BTW, is the Dennis logo on 549K's rear engine cover at the bottom right hand corner? Like where the old Duple Metsec badge was?
I doubt so.........but of course, I merely doubt.Originally posted by samtlk:SBS 549K uses a Dennis engine instead of a Merc engine? There's even a Dennis logo on the rear engine cover.
This is just as good as saying TIB700X has a Mercedes engine because it has a Mercedes badge. We know for sure that is not true. Dennis don't make their own engines anymore. Dennis buses usually use Cummins engines.Originally posted by samtlk:SBS 549K uses a Dennis engine instead of a Merc engine? There's even a Dennis logo on the rear engine cover.
Originally posted by MS:So actually, I make a new thread "Bus faulty or bad condition of bus, please post here". So I hope you can see this first and try to serve the problem. This may save the company from getting negative feedback from the communters.
[b]... that while I read through the postings here I found that a considerable number of people do not know much about technical stuffs on the buses. So may read up on some paper material and assumed the rest.[b]

You go and take a few S17 Scanias and you tell me whether it's triangular DM or not ok?Originally posted by iveco:Scanias have DM handgrabs? Don't all handgrabs look the same?
I see no diff in the handgrabs on WA and DM bodied B10Ms.
That one only found on DM3500s and VO3X batch III. Earlier bus models use the round ones.Originally posted by carbikebus:You go and take a few S17 Scanias and you tell me whether it's triangular DM or not ok?
A few Striders [those with yellow seats] have triangle handgrips. I thought VO3x Batch 2 also have?Originally posted by iveco:That one only found on DM3500s and VO3X batch III. Earlier bus models use the round ones.
Anyway, there is one Habit bendy on 106 that has both the round handgrips along with the flexible ones.
That one only ha? Why some of the Scanias have it, please get back to Singapore to see what is happening. Now you can see Scanias with 2 kinds of straps.Originally posted by iveco:That one only found on DM3500s and VO3X batch III. Earlier bus models use the round ones.
