[b]Drink ad at bus stops gets canned
SINGAPORE : Just three days after last Friday’s launch of an unusual ad campaign for new beverages “Anything” and “Whatever”, the advertisers have pulled the displays — featuring empty cans — from 450 bus stops islandwide.
The reason? Some elderly people who sell empty cans for extra income have been harvesting the displays. Other curious members of the public lifted the flaps of the cans to confirm if they were empty, leading to concerns voiced by several MediaCorp hotline callers about rainwater collecting and becoming breeding grounds for mosquitoes.
Although the campaign was supposed to have run for a month, marketing consultants Out of the Box decided on Monday to dismantle the displays, after nine in 10 were damaged; the losses totalled $50,000.
Nevertheless, managing director Johnson Tan said it had achieved its “objectives of creating mass awareness and attention”. - [/b]
Wonder if there can be any charges laid for vandalising advertising displays. -
besides TIB833X and TIB842U spotting a different type of front desto EDS design, TIB839E also looks similar to these 2 buses.

833X has the original wrap-around windscreen, before TIBS decided to split it into 3 parts. -

That was what my SL friend told me.. Maybe they only test out for time being to let the BC familiar driving the DD on this service. -

The seats behind the driver and near the desto are abit different..The rest behind are the same..Go board it and you will know.. -

Don't need what, 5 got DDs enough already (taking into account Bukit Panjang dint have the present population at that time). In the recent Hong Kah North brochure, it stated that Dr Amy Khor and with her grassroots leaders, lobbied hard to convince SBST that the service would make life a whole lot more convienient in Jurong West, as well as for students of Coporation Primary School. Finally, service 185 started on 26 December 2006. A photo of SBS 539P (Cameo) on svc 185 was taken and showing lots of people boarding the bus.

The complaint of lack of bus service connecting to Corporation Pri Sch student & direct link out of Jurong West Extension had been debated for quite sometime already & Dr Amy Khor promised the residents that they worked with SBS Transit over the provision of such a link during some meet the residents events...
BTW, Service 181 is another Service proposed by the Dr Amy Khor together with their grassroots leaders in 04/05, since that area has no bus linkage.
