Air is used for the braking system of the bus and this include the handbrakes as well. If you notice on the instrument panel, taking the one on the O405 as an example, you will see the brake gauges, showing how much pressure is available in the brake pipe (red needle) and the brake cylinder (white needle). If the air brakes failed or there is not enough pressure, the bus cannot move. In an air brake system, air is pumped into the brake cylinder to release the brakes, and taken out to apply. That's why you see the white needle dip when the brakes are applied.Originally posted by stooper:But I believe air brakes are only used or handbrake for SBST & SMRT buses?![]()
I see there are 3 air gauges on LO3x. The 4th is usually a hole in the panel.Originally posted by The_Bus_Guide:taking the one on the O405 as an example, you will see the brake gauges, showing how much pressure is available in the brake pipe (red needle) and the brake cylinder (white needle).

It's for the brakes. I'm not aware of any buses with an air suspension meter on their dashboard. Usually its just 2. I believe the 3rd one is something else; perhaps the temperature gauge? I'll see the dash the next time I catch a LO.Originally posted by stooper:I see there are 3 air gauges on LO3x. Nope, not temperature, temperature one is on the right of steering wheel, next to tachometer. The 3 gauges are to the left of steering wheel.Originally posted by The_Bus_Guide:It's for the brakes. 7228R and 7231E also got same problem...Originally posted by chickenlittle2:SBS 7288S got the engine sound that sound like the old LO2x..
Sorrie, I made a mistake it should be SBS 7228R..Originally posted by stooper:7228R and 7231E also got same problem...![]()
Sembawang have..Seen it last saturday..Originally posted by SBS9889U:So far the ones in SMRT int still there. Not sure if Sembawang have though
Yeah, that's right. I read from a post by Windy_Hates_B10TL in another thread. The 3rd gauge is for the auxillary air cylinder. This supplies the air for the doors, suspension (you were partly right about this!) and other things that require pressured air to work.Originally posted by stooper:Nope, not temperature, temperature one is on the right of steering wheel, next to tachometer. That 153 guy...9669M. 9670H last time also, now the got TV but may not operate, sometimes one of the TV not inside bus.Originally posted by TWS4793:The 'Bus Stopping' sign on SBS 9661J (10 BNDEP) is placed in the middle of the bus on the upper deck.
And the good news for most of you who hate the awful sound of TV Mobile-SBS 9661J does not have any TV Mobile! Great for capturing quality bus engine sound recordings and having a peaceful ride. I wonder whether any other VO3X don't have TV Mobile installed.
SBS 9661J is great!![]()

Some of the bus drivers deserve kerna abused. Really...their attitudes are really sucky. Now with this stupid Stop Abusing Bus Drivers Campaign, they can become more yaya...and abuse the commuters...because commuters wanna hit back, macham in the wrong.Originally posted by SBS9806J:18 this year

Well, of course passengers should not beat up BCs, but some of the BC attitudes are really horrible. If SBST can introduce a 'Stop Abusing BC' campaign, can't they also introduce a 'BC must be friendly' campaign as well?Originally posted by SBS9889U:This campaign is good (Although some BC really #^#&%*, but afterall they dint physically injure passenger wad). But i dont think commuter will really bother go and call 999(Especially if bus is quite empty), lest the tyrant go and beat up the passenger also![]()
