You must understand. last time, when the buses were under TIBS, you will not be able to find the buses in a state like this. But ever since it became under SMRTB, it's a totally different story.Originally posted by patdog112:time for smrt to refrubish cac merz liao lots of them seats are in bad state....
CAC merz used to have plastic seats i dont know why they go and change into fabric one
Buses sound like one another is due to the gearbox that they are using. The list will just go on and on.......Originally posted by bus555:Do you know:
1. Our SMRT Nissan UD sounds like our SMRT Hispano Merz because it uses ZF.
2. Our SMRT DAF sounds like our SBST Mark IV (DM3500) because I am not sure...
SMRT DAFs could sound like the Scania N113s and The Voith Mercs.Originally posted by bus555:Do you know:

Laid-up means that the bus' road tax was freezed and not allowed on the roads till SMRT or SBS wants to remove lay-up status as they wish. TIB118X was thought to be laid-up till 2008 but it came out 6 months after being released from KJDEP Repairs. Actually, you could lay up a bus and release 'lay up status' only at specific dates, depending on what date the bus was registeredOriginally posted by ^tamago^:Actually if laid up will it get a corresponding extension in lifespan since it is not used during the period?
They are all VOITH my dear boy.Originally posted by tintinspartan:SMRT DAFs could sound like the Scania N113s and The Voith Mercs.
SBS7209X sounds very similar to a DM3500! The Voith whistle when decelerating is very loud and the way the bus shifts down (i.e. the pauses between the gears) sound exactly like the DM3500.Originally posted by bus555:Do you know:

Of course it is weak, but can it be as weak as Changi Airport?Originally posted by TWS4793:The TV signal for TV Mobile on buses is at it's weakest when the bus is plying through the CTE Tunnel.
