Voiths have NBS, though it sounds different from a ZF when it goes into neutral.Originally posted by stooper:Oh... So is that why the DM3500s, VO2x, etc will suddenly whine louder when stopped?Or is that something else?
Hmm,are you implying TIB570D has an engine cover with openings?Originally posted by swee_heng:The rear engine cover of TIB570D has the pattern of those on the Lances. The Mk3s on 160 were formerly based at HGDEP and 734S (if i'm not wrong) 739D & 785U has a "511" sticker sticked behind its "160" sticker & 796M was from BRBP if i'm not wrong coz i have seen the 154 sticker sticked.
Not only that , Sv 27 the perms are all the MK4 , including the DM3500Originally posted by alleggerita:Ok, from what I know, nearly all the buses in singapore have automatic gearbox, and an automatic gearbox (also known as a torque convertor) will multiply the torque of the engine even at an idle..That's why a car/bus with automatic gearbox will "crawl" even when u never step on thr accelerator..I always take svc27 to tampines every morning..The fleet of 27s are made up of B10M Duple Metsec or Alexander Strider..TPE always get jammed up at 8am every morning..and sometimes the driver will just let the bus "crawl" along the expressway..so to activate NBS, the driver has to pull some lever eh? If not the bus will just "crawl" out of the bus bay if the driver does not apply a little pressure on the brake pedal..lol..![]()
I suppose the Mk4s don't have NBS.Originally posted by alleggerita:Ok, from what I know, nearly all the buses in singapore have automatic gearbox, and an automatic gearbox (also known as a torque convertor) will multiply the torque of the engine even at an idle..That's why a car/bus with automatic gearbox will "crawl" even when u never step on thr accelerator..I always take svc27 to tampines every morning..The fleet of 27s are made up of B10M Duple Metsec or Alexander Strider..TPE always get jammed up at 8am every morning..and sometimes the driver will just let the bus "crawl" along the expressway..so to activate NBS, the driver has to pull some lever eh? 570D has the dents instead of openings. Just like how SBST has patched up the vents above the radiator for some VOs.Originally posted by iveco:Hmm,are you implying TIB570D has an engine cover with openings?
no... before the NEL, Eunos was HGDEP-controlled and Serangoon was AMDEP-controlled. It was only after the NEL completion that BRBP took over Eunos Int and HGDEP took Serangoon.Originally posted by swee_heng:...796M was from BRBP if i'm not wrong coz i have seen the 154 sticker sticked.
SBS2647Y has (silver) diamond textured handlebars on entrance doors. SBS9019P and and unidentified SLBP VO2x has (yellow) diamond textured handlebars on their entrance doors. And one of the rear doors of SBS912U has (yellow) diamond textured handlebars.Originally posted by TWS4793:3. SBS 0894M (27 HGDEP) and SBS 9197H (22 AMDEP) both have diamong textured handlebars on their entrance doors. But it is silver in colour instead.
Wrong, it took place 1 year after NEL opened, when NEL opened, only major bus deployment change happened, no switching of interchanges between depots, and that was in 2003. For the record, Ang Mo Kio route group had one less terminal to handle, that is Jln Kayu Terminal.Originally posted by SBS9888Y:no... before the NEL, Eunos was HGDEP-controlled and Serangoon was AMDEP-controlled. That is strange.......because all the buses I've encountered all can crawl. So does that mean that none have NBS?Originally posted by Scania:I suppose the Mk4s don't have NBS.
39 when under amdep belonged to AMK Route Group, which controls AMK, Woodlands Reg Int and YCK Ter. Drivers travelled to Tampines to change shift.Originally posted by Scania:Wrong, it took place 1 year after NEL opened, when NEL opened, only major bus deployment change happened, no switching of interchanges between depots, and that was in 2003. For the record, Ang Mo Kio route group had one less terminal to handle, that is Jln Kayu Terminal.
The deployment change + interchange switch was as follows:
hgdep gets Serangoon Route Group
bram gets Eunos Route Group.
Sims Place and Geylang Lor 1 went from Eunos Route group to Serangoon Route Group, Ban San St Terminal is under Serangoon Route group now (though I'm not sure whether Serangoon had control of Ban San St Terminal before that when it was under amdep)
7, 33, 66 went from hgdep to bndep, whether these services were under Bedok Route Group before that is unknown) (damn that 1984E went to bndep)
amdep took over Bishan Route Group from bram (little difference except buses now park at amdep)
39 went to amdep (not sure which route group), used Serangoon buses, ie 177A, 426G, 3828K, 3913Y and some ex-bndep Mk3s and Mk4s. 335K went from hgdep 100 to am 39 later on, in exchange for 847A.
West side largely untouched, except that hgdep went to West district earlier in 2004, before the deployment change + interchange switch.
This deployment change + interchange switch happened in September 2004.
Most probable reason for deployment change + interchange switch was the demise of East district and having Central district taking over bndep, and in the process renaming Central district to East district. hgdep ceased to control (the old) East district. These happened in early 2004, before the deployment change + interchange switch.
39 later returned to BNDEP when Svc 57 was introduced.Originally posted by Scania:Wrong, it took place 1 year after NEL opened, when NEL opened, only major bus deployment change happened, no switching of interchanges between depots, and that was in 2003. Wrong, 507G was amdep 82.Originally posted by SBS9888Y:thats all i need to know... the rest are juz fyi and irrelevant to my answer...
so its a year after? i see... great to know...
please note some buses from amdep like 202K, 301H, 3873D moved from AM105SL 105
and 507G SL154BR154... when the changes took effect
the HG60/154 VO3x (except 9670H) moved to BR60/154 along with 9800A and 9888Y
however the HG SDs (under eunos services) were moved to other HGDEP services (some to serangoon services) as BR preferred its MB fleet
For Serangoon side, all AMDEP buses perm on serangoon services are SDs, the buses moved out to replace the eunos services and other areas under amdep/brbp... thus, the HGDEP SDs took over all the AMDEP serangoon slots
East district was under hgdep.Originally posted by iveco:39 later returned to BNDEP when Svc 57 was introduced.
7 & 66 went to BNDEP along with 32 in 2005. HGDEP took over 159 from BRAM the same day.
Wasn't BNDEP the old East Dist HQ all along? Ban San St more likely under CLE or BMR route group, since 170 uses BBDEP buses.
