Yes none have, I suppose the gearbox isn't tuned to have NBS.Originally posted by SBS3625D:That is strange.......because all the buses I've encountered all can crawl. So does that mean that none have NBS?
its common for the interior rego to be missingOriginally posted by SBS9806J:SBS9373R has an interior of a VO3x Batch 2 (except the seats). The interior rego (lower deck) is also missing. Did the bus have an accident before?
An automatic gearbox is not known as a torque convertor. A torque converter is found inside vehicles with automatic transmission. A torque converter is also knwon as a fluid coupling. It is merely a connection between the engine and the driveshaft which prevents the engine from stalling when the vehicle is stationary.Originally posted by alleggerita:Ok, from what I know, nearly all the buses in singapore have automatic gearbox, and an automatic gearbox (also known as a torque convertor) will multiply the torque of the engine even at an idle..That's why a car/bus with automatic gearbox will "crawl" even when u never step on thr accelerator..
So does NBS automatically spring up the Drive Button or something? Or the button will stay pushed down in Drive?Originally posted by The_Bus_Guide:NBS (Neutral at Bus Stop; also known as ANS: Automatic Neutral Shift) is a different thing. What it does is to automatically select Neutral when the bus is stationary. Its main purpose is to reduce fuel consumption.
Originally posted by The_Bus_Guide:Ah..the reason why I called automatic transmission torque convertors is because all of the automatic transmission used in cars have torque convertors (not too sure about buses though)..Thus I called it a torque convertor..Haha..and I would think a CVT is not an automatic transmission actually..An automatic transmission is still quite similar to the manual transmission bacause they use gears..The difference being manual transmissions have clutch, while the clutch is the torque convertor in an automatic transmission..a CVT works by chains, or more specifically, the expansion of the chains to mimick gears..thus it is not considered an automatic transmission, but rather (like the name suggests) a Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT).

Now, automatic gearboxes need not have torque convertors, thanks to Continous Variable Transmission (CVT) which uses a complex system of pulleys.[b]
Nothing happens to the the gear selector buttons. The gearbox just shifts to Neutral automatically. Similarly, it will automatically shift to Drive when the brake pedal is released.Originally posted by stooper:So does NBS automatically spring up the Drive Button or something? I haven't come across a bus with CVT so of course they use torque converters.Originally posted by alleggerita:Ah..the reason why I called automatic transmission torque convertors is because all of the automatic transmission used in cars have torque convertors (not too sure about buses though)..Thus I called it a torque convertor..Haha..and I would think a CVT is not an automatic transmission actually..An automatic transmission is still quite similar to the manual transmission bacause they use gears..The difference being manual transmissions have clutch, while the clutch is the torque convertor in an automatic transmission..a CVT works by chains, or more specifically, the expansion of the chains to mimick gears..thus it is not considered an automatic transmission, but rather (like the name suggests) a Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT).
Ya, but i dont think it will happen anytime soon. I dont think a chain/pulley/belt drive can support the torque of the diesel engines. Even a petrol engine with 600nm plus can snap a chain cleanly, let alone 1250nm ! Anyway, try TIB1132D, it sounds abit like CVT if you ignore the ZF howling. Thats what i think.Originally posted by The_Bus_Guide:I haven't come across a bus with CVT so of course they use torque converters.
That bus has a slip gear which hasn't been rectified for more than a year.Originally posted by Scania N113CRB luver:Ya, but i dont think it will happen anytime soon. Tsk tsk tsk...Originally posted by Scania:That bus has a slip gear which hasn't been rectified for more than a year.
It isn't CVT problem, its a slip gear, ZFs and Merc gearboxes are prone to slip gear problems.Originally posted by Scania N113CRB luver:Tsk tsk tsk...
TIB638T has this prob too in the past, but now it has been fixed...no more such "CVT" probs liao.
Sleekangel and Partyangel Sanitary pad hanging at selected bus stop, suck suck suckOriginally posted by TWS4793:1. SBS 2784J (66 SLBP) do not have seats like those of normal Volvo B10M MKIV WA Striders/DM3500. Instead, their seats were those of the colours the Scania N113CRB use (excluding the newly refurbished SBS 0073R). Could they have swapped the colours instead?
2. Most of the buses from BNDEP carrying the Sleekangel and Partyangel Sanitary pad do not have a 3D model at the back of the bus. The others do mostly have this 3D model at the back.
Please correct me if I am wrong.
SBS2784J's seat are the original seats of DM3500. Those seats that are yellow are refurbished last year for the IMF. You never take MK IVs before last year?Originally posted by TWS4793:1. Not exactly! Most DM3500 on svc 51,66 and 105 like SBS 2786D, SBS2770Z and SBS2708E were not deployed to the IMF but their seats were refurbished after the IMF! I have the bookOriginally posted by choww:Books are available at National Library on all SBS Transit bus models and also 1980s bus guide..
An example..(forget to take down reference)
U know where still have it?Originally posted by TIB1049L:I have the book![]()
