Regarding the SD on 812, I have seen it like 2 times. The buses deployed are both Dennis Lances. Regarding abt the svcs that need DD, so far, I have seen most bedok, tampines and boon lay feeder svc have gd loads partly because there is crowd in these three interchanges. Compare them to Serangoon. AMK may be the next int that will be crowded.Originally posted by Volvo Olympian:SD on 812? Shouldn't be rigid? Anyway , Tampines feeder only 291 needs DD , for Bedok only 222 which has currently got 2 DD perm , Boon lay currently only 242 got DD's
Yes , Lance on 812 i have seen it before. Don't think its rare on any Yishun feeders especially.Originally posted by tanjun:Regarding the SD on 812, I have seen it like 2 times. the citybuzz svcs don't need DDs,citybuzz unfortunately needs DDs for "sightseeing"
i hope SBST take out those DDs on citybuzz and replace them with dennis dart or NAC Mk 2 or scania
actually, they just need it for peak hours, except 93, doesn't need it at all
svc which don't need DDs are
93, 153, 161, 165
yes I agree citybuzz dun need DDs but using dennis dart, NAC Mk2 or Scania is too.......Originally posted by No_10_Tomas:the citybuzz svcs don't need DDs,

Dont you think that is dangerous? I think the bus is already overloaded in terms of the bus's licensed capacity. Full to the door during the PM peak? Luckily its just PM, not AM. If its AM where some other drivers who is still sleepy, it will be very dangerous indeed. Cant imagine what will happen if a car rammed the bus at the door while going at 50kph.Originally posted by stooper:During the PM peak, you'll see all their buses full to the door.

no la.. must have dd.. or else how to sight seeing?? but then replace with LO3X la.. don use VSO la.. VSO more suitable for those long long journeys la.. eg 196/197/157??Originally posted by No_10_Tomas:the citybuzz svcs don't need DDs,

the queue jux like 180.. morning so packed even though its served by bendys with 2-3mins frequency..Originally posted by TIB1049L:901 surely needs more Bendies during the morning peak period, although you can see rigid buses leaving the interchange every 5 minutes, the queue too long. I remembered walking to the 911 berth when I passed by the 901/900/965 berth when I saw the queue extending to the escalators (the escalators linking WDL MRT/Causeway Point and WRI) even though a bus went off. More surprisingly, all are Secondary school students!
Don't know about DDs as I am living in a full SMRT area![]()
My parents & I lived in Jurong East for more than 20 yrs bef & we take Jurong East feeder almost daily thenOriginally posted by Donavan:Let me clarify the PURPOSE of JE feeders.
333 - Toh Guan to Jurong East Avenue 1 link, JE St 32 link, JE to Toh Guan (though this looks hopeless, outrun by 52, 105 and 183)
334 - general JE Feeder from JE Int to JE Avenue 1/JW Avenue 1. The loading is too high. Especially evening peak. Maybe 2 S Shift buses can do extra 1 round of 334 before calling it a day (for weekdays). (follow 2994U)
335 - JE feeder to JW St 41/51/52. It should be quicker for the JW Avenue 1 stretch. This feeder is manageable. Maybe an extra bus will suffice.
93 needs DD for peak from Harbourfront to Braddell Section.Originally posted by No_10_Tomas:410 used to have 0305 and LO2X

yeah, theres the VO2x.. fat lot of good the are..Originally posted by SBS9889U:93 needs DD for peak from Harbourfront to Braddell Section.
Yes they are from 179. But this still means 242 got DDs.Originally posted by iveco:242 got perm LO3X? I suspect those are from 179.
Hmm , 225 don't think DD's are needed becos it is rather short and also there are 2 plates , G and W , so commuters can choose which directionOriginally posted by TWS4793:Service 225 (Both Green and White Plate) needs DD's during peak hours like in the afternoons. 225W will have DD's at around 1300hrs to 1330hrs. Not sure about the other side.
Service 293 also need to have DD's during peak hours, where 22 DD's are low. 293 DD can operate at 1230 hrs to 1800hrs where passenger demands are high at 1300 hrs, 1500hrs and after 1730hrs.
Yah , 358 and 359 , including 291 also use VO2x before. Those Hougang South feeders use 0305's if im not wrong.Originally posted by 105090:if u remebered, 358, 359, 321, 322, 326, 327, 328 all had double deckers before, the VO2x..
but the VO2x were there probaly due to excess supply of NAC buses, and not due to demand![]()
are u ok?Originally posted by No_10_Tomas:the citybuzz svcs don't need DDs,

Some of the VO3Xes were initially deployed on 26 when brand-new.Originally posted by No_10_Tomas:it seems that the retrofitted CAC 0405DM is the reason why many DD svcs have since become SD svcs
like Sv 26, 63, 90, 135, 139, 142, 186, 240, 243, 269, 333, 334, 335, 410
can VO2X be converted to CAC as well?
Don't think so , it will need a 3rd axle to carry the AC weight. I think is abt 700 over KGOriginally posted by No_10_Tomas:can VO2X be converted to CAC as well?
I agree with you. People can choose either to go and take Green or White plate. But most of the students stuff the White plate bus (most prominently SBS 3721J) like sardines. They could be too lazy to walk to take 225G, so they take the nearest one instead. I suggest having a crossover of at least one or two DD's to take the students who wish to board 225W.Originally posted by Volvo Olympian:Hmm , 225 don't think DD's are needed becos it is rather short and also there are 2 plates , G and W , so commuters can choose which direction
As for 293 , i think it use LA before last time? or rather , nvr use DD before? Not sure abt this....
Then sv238 should also have DD to cater the First Toa Payoh Sec Sch students.Bus is fully packed with them.Originally posted by TWS4793:I agree with you. I also felt that it should be good for SBST to provide DD's for the Bedok Town Secondary students. Imagine over 100 students squeezing into the same bus. There was once where I almost couldn't get off from the bus because there were too many BTSS students.
What do you think? Should we place more DD's into 225 during peak hours?
As for DD's on 293, put more 22 DD's instead. Also, put the only 68 perm bus, SBS 0074M, into service during peak hours. If you think you don't want DD's on 293,then do as I said.
