BC go wrong direction?

I remember of one case where BC went wrong direction. I was on a cameo bus, SBS 0069D on 225W going home. When the BC reached the T junction of Bedok North Avenue 2 and Bedok North Street 1, he went straight instead of turning into Avenue 2.
Then I could hear passengers from behind shouting "OEI! Wrong Direction!". BC apologised to all of us and made a U-turn outside Market and Food Centre Block 216. Soon we were back on track.
Anyone experienced the same thing before? -

at that time, 176 was travelling by Batok East Ave 4, the BC turn wrong.. he turn to BB st 21.. BLK 217!! haha..

I had got this experience before when I took 73 last year. SBS 503 S, __ ___ 2005 (forgotten), between 1330 - 1400. The bus should be turning into S'goon North Ave 4 but it go straight and stop at AMK Ave 3 bus stop then uturn along Yio Chu Kang Rd. My first experience...

Many years ago there was this very famous incident when a 196 BC drove a LA into Stadium Boulevard from Mountbatten Road instead of going straight and turning left at Nicoll Highway. Because of that, the top deck of the LA crashed into the height barrier sign and the LA became an "open-top"!
Personally I never experience any "wrong direction" bus rides in Singapore. But I had one such experience in Canada though. I was sleeping peacefully on the bus and suddenly I was woken by people screaming "Wrong! Wrong!"... It turned out that it was the BC's first day of work. Luckily a few passengers guided the BC all the way to the terminus... -
This almost happened to me once on a route 169 bus. I was on my way to Sembawang Camp from Nee Soon Camp, and when the bus reached the junction of Yishun Avenue 2 and 7, the bus driver (who almost definitely is a China man) wanted to turn into Yishun Avenue 7
. Immediately, without hesitation, I shouted out in Chinese: "Hey! Shouldn't we be going straight?!". The bus driver seemingly realised his error and put the bus back on the correct route, but he looked a bit annoyed and said nothing.

Relax lah. Some of us need more time to memorise routes and to practise driving on those routes.

I remember once taking svc 31 from Bedok South Ave 1 towards Marine Parade.
Instead of turning into Marine Parade Road, the bus went straight into ECP.
The bus went on the ECP all the way to Still Road South.
I must admit; I got to my destination (Marine Parade Library) faster than if the BC had gone on the usual route.
And yeah, BCs are human too. So long as their mistakes are kept to a minimum, then I'm fine with it.

Ya. That incident caused several people on the upper deck to be injured. The driver was speeding that time also. He was sacked. -

Yeah, some people who stayed in Marine Terrace/ Marine Crescent were understandably miffed as he had bypassed those places in the process. Everyone else was pretty happy, though, as he had cut our travelling time by quite a bit. -
I also got this type of experience. The BC on 900 on year 1999 who is driving a cameo Scania
(Hardly get Scania's there). He turned in at the junction before Vista Point (a.k.a the place where 962 and 900 meet). Some passenger go and tell him and the BC turned back at the nearest traffic light.
Forgive them la. They need sometime to season themself to new routes anyway -

Yes, 61 used to turn right into Queensway from Commonwealth Dr but now all vehicles(including 61) can only turn left in Queensway & U-turn at Queensway/Commonwealth Ave junction bef proceeding to Queensway(Jln Bt Merah) due to heavy traffic flow from Queensway/Commonwealth Underpass.Originally posted by swee_heng:Does 61 makes a U turn at Queensway? i got this driver sleepin at the junction between bt timah rd and clementi rd... svc 154 good thing bus at idle... i wonder why the traffic light turn green 4 times still havent move off yet... somemore is SBS9888Y... breakdown? but 12:10am liao BC chionging time... lol i was like the only one awake in the bus... about 5-10 passengers only in the bus at that time... i saw the driver sleeping so i woke him up... never drink coffee?

But poor thing la he......so tired until sleep at the junction. It can be quite dangerous, since 154 travels on PIE and AYE and if he falls asleep while travelling on the expressway.....
