98A is a Short Trip service, means it does not operates the full route of 98, but plys a certain stretch of the route. Short trips are most useful when there is heavy demand along a certain stretch.
A, B, C are all the same(same as in also short trip) and usually used by SBS Transit.
About that 9xxW bus, I believe it is 985W.
Basically some small stretch of route(985W) plies a little different route from 985, but actually it is the same. I have no idea why SMRTB called it W though.
More like an alternative route.Originally posted by PurpleSmoke:W for working trip?
