i love that route at new loyang link, bypass loyang ave traffic jam, cool.
a real supplmentary service n i guess could run DDs soon.
one good example, svc 88 when launched. less than 1 month of service, run DDs,fastest route to MRT then... ...

Observations And Findings
1. More old people were seen using this bus service. They might have come from Bukit Merah.
2. This service is unable to use double deckers owing to the fact that there are narrow roads and sharp bends at Loyang Way. There are only two lanes (one for each direction), which made me the conclusion that it cannot use double deckers.
3. BC's driving for Service 5 today are rather slow, driving for about 20km/h to 30km/h. I guess that they haven't been familiar with it yet.
4. Service 5 Service Guides were seen in SBS 2645C and SBS 3662X. There were no Service Guides on SBS 2712S. The others not mentioned are unconfirmed. -

For your info, DD buses can used the roads along Loyang Ave (area) . This has been comfirmed by a staff working at BNdepot. If the loads are good, the service may get DD buses just like how svc 88 did.

I will be one of the minorities of the passengers that will avoid the scanias. I just hate taking scanias on long journeys. The braking and the changing of gear makes the bus jerk (depends on conditions) quite jia laut and no way am I going to endure 1 hour journey on the bus.
Another fact I realized is that this is the first time BBdepot buses enters Simei,Loyang Ave and Pasir Ris. I am so happy to be able to take BBdepot buses now.
Gives me options to skip BNdepot buses. -

I remember that at that time I was on a particular Service 5 bus (SBS 2712S), the bus passed by a seculded area (lots of shade, almost no people) in Loyang, then at the cross junction, I got totally messed up with the road names.Originally posted by 105090:u mean old tampines road?
