If I can remember hearing those at OCS, 175 original rt was Tuas <-> Jurong Rd <-> Upp Bt Timah <-> CBD...
Those days Jurong Rd leads from Upp Bt Timah all the way to SAFTI -

this 175 is go bt timah n shenton way type of number.
if they want to use they could choose either:-
1 because geylng lor 1
or bus 148 because...nostalgia reasons. altho best if the bus go thru TPY whcih i doubt so
meanwhile i find it funny with the number 185 usage todday. 185 ought to go by bt batok not clementi

175 was from Jalan Ahmad Ibrahim to Prince Edward Road. Its terminal was near the junction of Jalan Ahmad Ibrahim, Upper Jurong Rd and Tuas Rd. Last time, there was also 175A. Jurong Rd starts from Upp Bt Timah Rd, adjacent to the Bukit Timah Fire Station, and stretched all the way to Jalan Bahar/Jalan Boon Lay. After that junction, the road is called Upper Jurong Road until the junction with Jalan Ahmad Ibrahim. After that, the road is called Tuas Rd which led to Tuas Village near the sea.
The terminal at Jalan Ahmad Ibrahim was later relocated to Pioneer Rd and therefore named Tuas Terminal. When Jurong Road was broken up in the 1980s, 175 was amended to follow the current 174 route. By 1989, it was amended to start from Bukit Batok Interchange and loop at Pioneer Rd. A year later, it was shortened to loop at Jurong West St 91 before finally being withdrawn in the 1990s.
